Specifications
For me, my hair is a huge part of my identity. Whether it's long or short, a good haircut can totally make or break an outfit. That's why hair care is just as important as skincare.
I've been thinking a lot about hair care lately, and it's crazy how many people overlook the importance of a good scalp massager. I mean, it's not just about detangling your hair, it's about giving your scalp some TLC and stimulating blood flow to wake up those dormant hair follicles.
Recently, I stumbled upon this super cool scalp massager that all the bloggers were raving about. It turns out it's a copycat of the popular Japanese scalp massager that's supposed to boost hair growth and is a total game-changer for hair care.
The uniqueness of this massager lies in its design. I just had to try it out, so I ordered the BlissMe Professional Scalp Massager for all hair types from Wildberries.
Price:** 678 rubles (at the time of purchase).
I mean, a scalp massager for almost 700 rubles? Okay, let's see what it can do and how it compares to those cheap scalp massagers for 100-200 rubles.
Did you know that the real Japanese scalp massager costs around 22,000 rubles? No way, I'm not shelling out that kind of cash for a scalp massager.
Where I bought it:** Wildberries ((link to product).
Product code:** 233772675.
Country of origin:** China.
Scalp massager size:** 160 x 45 mm.
I picked up the scalp massager from the delivery point in a pretty cardboard box that looks like a gift box and could actually be given as a gift.
Inside the box, I found a comb in a transparent pouch.
Color: blue.
I have no idea why I chose this one, although the comb's body was shown in three other beautiful shades: rose gold, pink, and purple.
The blue plastic body of the comb is ridiculously beautiful.
The comb is extremely light, and thanks to its smooth body, it's a pleasure to hold it in your hands.
The uniqueness of the BlissMe comb for all hair types lies in the fact that it has 572 bristles with rounded tips. They're not all the same.
Three lengths and three levels of stiffness: the longest and softest are the black bristles; a bit shorter and stiffer are the transparent ones; the shortest and stiffest are the brown ones. The black bristles occupy the central 4 rows (2 rows longer and 2 rows shorter), then on either side of them are rows of white and brown bristles.
The bristles are made of nylon and thanks to their flexibility, they really don't tangle, don't pull out your hair, wrapping it around themselves when combing either dry or wet hair, but instead tease it out.
The tiny ball at the tip of each bristle is responsible for massaging the scalp, but you need to take a close look at the comb and check if all the balls are in place. If some are missing, this comb can actually harm your scalp by scratching it and creating scratches that can lead to scalp and hair diseases.
I picked up this massaging brush to really deep clean my scalp, since it's prone to oiliness, and to distribute those smoothing hair care products evenly across my dry, damaged hair length.
Washing my hair.
I don't know about you, but I sometimes totally mess up washing my hair roots with my hands, and no matter how many times I use a detangling tool, they're still dirty after two days - it's like I haven't washed my hair in a week, and frequent washing just destroys my lightened hair ends. All of this leads to hair breakage and even complete hair loss with clogged pores.
One last hope - this massaging brush. I mean, all the hype about real Japanese ones and overhyped Chinese replicas...
I apply a mixture of shampoo and water to my hair roots and start gently combing my hair from roots to ends along the massaging lines. Don't press down on the brush at all, or you might damage your scalp.
I can say that healthy hair is a breeze to comb with this thing. Plus, the scalp massage really relaxes your body. For me, it's the roots and the area around them. But dry, burnt, and tangled hair is completely impossible to comb out - the massaging action gets stuck in the hair.
Applying hair care products.
Here, I apply the products to the entire length, avoiding the roots and the scalp area, so I don't clog my already oily skin. After applying a mask, balm, or conditioner, I start combing the length of my hair with this massaging brush from top to bottom.
The comb does an amazing job of detangling my hair with the mask, balm, or conditioner. When I rinse the product out, my hair is incredibly silky - this massaging brush really distributes the product evenly throughout my hair length.
The product left on the massaging brush washes off easily with regular liquid soap.
And combing my hair after a smoothing product? It's like butter!
Drying my hair with this thing.
Two days after washing, my hair is still super dry and frizzy, and it's getting all electrocuted and knotted.
Check out how the massaging bristles smooth out my hair - I was expecting it to make it all frizzy, but nope, here's the result below.
I'm really loving this professional massaging brush from BlissMe! It's totally worth the money - I highly recommend giving it a try if you're on a budget and can't afford a Japanese one.
