Editor's Summary
Belagroprombank's hidden fees and lack of transparency make it a bank to avoid. Their high interest rates and favorable conditions are overshadowed by the exorbitant fees they charge for seemingly simple transactions.
My Disappointing Experience with Belagroprombank
I recently opened a deposit account at Belagroprombank, attracted by their high interest rates and favorable conditions. However, I was shocked by the hidden fees they charged me.
Here's what happened:
1. Exorbitant Fees for Opening an AccountWhen I went to open an account, I was told it would cost 0.75 BYN. I thought it was a small price to pay, but little did I know that this was just the beginning.
When I tried to pay with my Belarusbank card, I was informed that there would be a 2.5% commission, which I thought was reasonable. But the next day, I received a notification that I had been charged 6.5 BYN for the transaction. It turned out that they were charging me not only for the commission but also for withdrawing cash from their ATM using my Belarusbank card.
I was not informed about this beforehand, and it was a costly surprise.
2. Additional Fees for Using Their AppI wanted to use their mobile app to track my deposit, but I was told that I needed to have an electronic card, which would cost me 3 BYN. I decided to open the account in person instead, as I didn't need the app to keep track of my deposit.
Looking back, I realize that I was willing to compromise on the interest rate and the frequency of capitalization just to avoid these extra fees.
I'm extremely disappointed with the way Belagroprombank handled my account opening and the lack of transparency about their fees.
