I've been a Megafon customer for ages, and I've been using their internet services without any issues for a long time. But things started to go downhill in 2024.
Let's just say Beeline isn't the worst provider out there, but a series of problems made me decide to switch.
They blocked my SIM card because I didn't verify my passport details on time. That was a real pain.I also had issues with reconnection when I moved to a new place. That was enough for me to lose faith. I wanted to keep my number, but I just couldn't deal with it anymore.

Connection
Frankly, I'm not even sure how it works. As far as I know, they don't charge extra for it - you just need to top up your account.
I've compared it to other providers, and they're more willing to make concessions. If you ask them nicely, they'll let you know when there's a free slot. Beeline doesn't do that, so you need to plan ahead and submit your request in advance.
Network quality
I've been impressed with the network quality. I've compared it to my previous provider, and Beeline hasn't had any issues with dropped calls or slow speeds.
But that changed after the promotional period ended. Once I was paying the full price, I got decent speeds and quality. Before that, I had to contact support, and my negative feedback helped for a while.
Unfortunately, this is a common issue in our country, and I've experienced it firsthand.

Personal account and app
I use the app on my phone, and it's pretty intuitive, even if it's a bit basic. The plus side is that it has cute cat pictures to soften the blow.
But it often freezes, and there's not much information available. There are no bonuses or interesting offers. I just top up my balance and occasionally try to contact support, but that's about it.

Customer support
I've always been greeted by a pretty clueless chatbot. It's impossible to have a conversation with it. I ask to speak to an operator, but even that's a challenge. I have to wait for ages, hang up, and then they'll answer and say goodbye. And then I have to start all over again to explain the problem.
The biggest minus is the customer support in the personal account.
I only used the phone to submit a request, so I can't judge it.
But the phone calls for customer service are a different story. They're super pushy and annoying. They keep calling me with offers and spam, and I have to block their numbers in bulk. But the staff doesn't seem to understand that they're being too pushy and it's not interesting for me... They should be more enthusiastic about solving the customer's problem...
Payment
The prices for the services are great. When I moved to a different city, they turned out to be 150 rubles cheaper per month, which is a significant difference. I actually switched to Bilyan from Dom.ru because the latter's prices were astronomical and the quality was terrible - I wrote to their customer support repeatedly.
I also had a discount for the first few months, which was half the price of the previous provider. Of course, I took advantage of it.
There's also the option to set up a 'trusted payment', which was useful when I was a broke student and couldn't pay online. I didn't want to go to the terminal, and I would remember to pay late at night.
Now I'm more frugal, and I don't use the service anymore.
The minus is again the virtual assistant. And the operator keeps changing the payment date unilaterally. There's no option to choose the date myself when it's convenient...

'Move' service

According to Bilyan, you can only move to a new apartment within the city. The neighboring city is not considered - you have to re-register. With all the paperwork - print, sign, submit...
This is taking into account that you can connect to a new address. For the first time, I encountered such unnecessary bureaucratic hassle.
Cancelling the contract is also done. And, thinking about it, I decided to take care of myself...
Pausing the services to think about it. There's no option to do that either. And, as usual, I couldn't get any help from Bilyan's staff. I didn't want to torture myself first, remembering that the operator is generally unhelpful, just like their Kukly-Chatbot.

Closing the Contract
I've got to say, Bilyan's still coming up with weird ways to make things difficult in this day and age.
To cancel my contract, I had to download, print, sign, and then mail a bunch of paperwork. Luckily, it was all electronic.
I was hoping to 'kill two birds with one stone' and just head to the office, but nope, that would've been too easy.
But to my surprise, I was able to write and sign the cancellation in the office. I let out a sigh of relief, thinking I wouldn't have to deal with the heat to print out the form (yeah, I don't have a printer at home, and I don't need one often enough).
Still, I had to dig out a flash drive, upload the file...Bilyan's paperwork nonsense took up some of my time.
Long story short, I went back to my old internet plan and switched back to the provider I had before I moved.
The contract cancellation process was quick. I got an SMS notification, and my online account info stopped showing up.

I wouldn't give it a low rating - it's not all bad. The cons are pretty minor.
At least, that's my experience. I had a choice between a reliable provider and one that's a pain to deal with when it comes to setup. They're priced the same.
I'd definitely recommend Bilyan. Just don't expect me to use them again anytime soon. Fingers crossed that by then, Bilyan will have gotten their act together and made things easier for customers..
