Hello, beauty enthusiasts!
I'm super excited to share my thoughts on the Beautyblender, a makeup sponge that's been making waves in the beauty world.

Made in the USA
As you might know, the Beautyblender is a bit pricey, with a price tag of around 1300 rubles (although it's often on sale with a gold card in IlDeBo or Sefora).
The material is a suede texture, patented by the company, and it's completely odorless.
Hypoallergenic, too!

I store it in its original box, which helps it dry out when not in use. I don't close it with a lid, and it doesn't get dusty, even though I use it almost every day.

I bought mine back in 2017, and it's still going strong. My first few 'baths' with it were a bit of a pink water flow, but that's completely normal.
The color has faded a bit over time, but it's still looking great.

The wide side is perfect for applying foundation all over my face, while the thin side is great for concealer and liquid textures.

I was a bit surprised to find that it struggles with caked-on makeup, like the Too Faced BORN THIS WAY Concealer.

The main advantages of the Beautyblender are:
I love how easy it is to apply any foundation tone, from light to heavy, caked-on products.
It's super soft and gentle on my skin.
The shape is really comfortable to hold.
It distributes the foundation, concealer, contour, and blush perfectly.
You can even use it to create a baking powder effect (for video and photo shoots).
It's incredibly durable and long-lasting.
The result is professional, just like a makeup artist's work.
The downsides are:
I have to wash it after every use, which is a bit of a hassle.
It absorbs more foundation than a flat brush made of synthetic materials.

Before applying foundation, I need to wet the Beautyblender and squeeze out excess water.
Then, I pick up the product with the Beautyblender and transfer it to my face. Immediately after, I wash it with a micellar water, a hard soap (I like Johnson's), or a liquid soap like Seifhard. Let it air dry, ideally on a window or a towel.
I dry it in the bathroom, on its original packaging.
I use my Beautyblender once a week, soaking it in chlohexidine or treating it with miramistin.
I've got to say, all that fuss about bacteria and mites is just a bunch of nonsense. I've seen videos where girls cut their BeautyBlenders in half and they're still pink inside. Liquid textures just don't penetrate the sponge.

When it's wet, the sponge expands and becomes super soft.

After all this time, its density and texture have remained unchanged. I once ruined it with a nail, and I tore off a piece.

I've got two foundation brushes in my arsenal: a flat one with artificial bristles (Brush foundation brush, from Wet n Wild) and a duo-fiber one from Real Techniques with a mix of bristles and fibers, a fluffy brush. The brush applies foundation densely and sometimes streaks. It needs more time. But with Beautyblender, I can cover my entire face in a minute, easily layering on more foundation.
Only Beautyblender can quickly and evenly apply foundation to my face.
I've tried out a bunch of sponges - Chinese ones, Fix Price ones, Revlon ones - and I can confidently say Beautyblender is the best sponge.
❗️I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to buy products based on reviews - it's just cluttering up your makeup bag. But if you're in the market, I'd be happy to share my thoughts.
Recently, I got my hands on the Beautyblender Pro Sponge in black.

They're the same size, no weird smell.
They feel different - the pink one is more dense.
The black one is more textured.
The Pro Sponge is for pros, for makeup artists. It's perfect for thick textures.
I'm getting used to it, and I really like it. It's a great replacement for my old pink one.
The pink one hasn't changed much since I bought it, except it's gotten a lot lighter.

I'd recommend the pink Beautyblender - it's a game-changer. A lot of people buy it and immediately start complaining, but once you get used to it, you'll realize it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Thanks to the sponge, I can easily blend liquid foundation and blush.
It can apply foundation either lightly or in two layers - no streaks or patchy spots. It's a pro-level finish. One expensive sponge can replace cheap ones and brushes. I compared it to the Good look Foundation from Fix Price.
The results are the same, but I didn't notice any difference on both sides of my face. However, the sponge has already fallen apart and it's unpleasant to hold in my hands. Plus, it's hard to clean the textures out of it and it has a bad smell. If you don't have any other options, go for it - it'll be your first experience with this type of application. But trust me, the original is worth it.
Thanks for reading, until next time!
