But amidst all the keto hype, a new kid on the block has caught my attention: the Carnivore Diet, also known as the 'Beast Mode' diet. Some people might find it extreme, even scary, but I was intrigued.
So, what's on the menu here?
It's simple: meat, poultry, fish, organ meats, eggs, cheese, and butter. That's it for condiments - just salt, and drinks like water, tea, and coffee, black.
The lack of variety might sound harsh and boring, but it's actually a blessing in disguise: no more agonizing over what to cook, no more weighing out veggies and calculating carb counts.
Of course, like any low-carb diet, there's a 'carb crash' phase at the beginning, when your body's adjusting to life without its usual fuel, and the associated symptoms (headaches, fatigue, irritability, and digestive issues, to name a few).
But once you get past that, you might just experience the perks of Carnivore eating:

I'm a bit skeptical of all the research and articles out there, but I'm a firm believer in trying things out for myself.
And let's be real - I could really use some weight loss, especially with my compulsive overeating issues. But getting rid of those habits is way easier said than done.
I was drawn to Carnivore because it's so straightforward - no counting calories or weighing everything down to the gram. With bulimia, that kind of fuss only makes things worse.
Even though I'm a total sugar addict, the fatty meat and chicken are actually really tasty - not just dry chicken breast!
Cooking is a breeze: just chop it up, add some salt, and throw it in the oven or slow cooker.
The fat and protein keep me full for hours with no need for snacking or even eating twice a day.
