My Banggood Bummer: A Cautionary Tale of Online Shopping

I'm a big fan of online shopping, especially when I can snag great deals. Recently, I decided to try out a Chinese website called banggood. I browsed the prices on various products, and I was surprised to find that there wasn't much difference compared to Aliexpress and Ebay, plus or minus depending on the item.

Initially, I wanted to order flowers, but then my eyes landed on the popular Instagram reverse umbrellas, and I liked the colors, and the price compared to Ali was cheaper.

My order from banggood - reverse umbrellaI ended up buying a reverse umbrella for $12.99, and when it arrived, I was shocked to see that it cost 1,965 rubles. That's a pretty big difference, and it makes me wonder if the site is padding its ratings to attract more customers.

Banggood.com's personal account reviewThe website has a Russian interface, which was convenient for me.The delivery time turned out to be around 2 months, which was a lot longer than I expected. The order was delivered by a courier to my home on a weekday. Delivery method: Russia Direct Mail. The expected delivery date was April 11th, but it ended up being a month later. I was starting to think my money was gone for good!

Order confirmation on banggood.com. They promised delivery within a month, but in reality, it took 2 months.

On banggood.com, you can pay for orders with Webmoney, Kivi, PayPal, and bank cards. That's convenient.There's a 3% cashback through Letyshops, which is a nice perk. Although, I have to say that Ali offers 3.9%, but sometimes it increases depending on the promotions.When ordering multiple items, it's possible to reduce the price for each item, which is visible in the offer. This is a great feature.There's a referral system, but since I've decided that I won't be a frequent visitor to this site, I don't want to delve into its meaning. They also give bonus points for writing reviews about products on the site.

You can get bonuses (points) for writing a review about a product on banggood.comOne thing I didn't like was the limited assortment. For example, the Temporary Tattoos section has 167 ads, and on Ali, there are 5,939 results.

Overall, the site didn't impress me. I would recommend it only as a price comparison tool, if you already know what you want to buy. If it's cheaper here, you can order.
