summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm a sucker for watches on metal straps, and the Balmain watch with a natural malachite dial is no exception. With its sleek design and high-end feel, this watch is perfect for anyone looking to elevate their style. But what really caught my attention was the brand's history – Balmain is a luxury French brand, but these watches are actually made in Switzerland. The Swiss-based Swatch Group acquired exclusive rights to produce and distribute Pierre Balmain watches in 1987, and took full ownership of the brand in 1995. With such a rich history behind it, I was excited to try out this watch and see if it lived up to my expectations. I've been wearing it for a while now, and I have to say, it's exceeded my expectations in every way. The natural malachite dial is stunning, and the metal strap adds a level of sophistication that's hard to find in other watches. But what really sets this watch apart is its build quality – it's solid, durable, and feels premium in every way. I've been impressed by the battery life too, which is longer than I expected. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase, and I think this watch is a great value for money.

I've always been drawn to watches with metal straps – there's something about the way they look that just feels more high-end and refined to me.
Today I'm sharing my thoughts on the Balmain watch with a natural malachite dial that caught my eye on a blogger's page.
Balmain is a luxury French brand, but these watches are actually made in Switzerland.
The Swiss-based Swatch Group acquired exclusive rights to produce and distribute Pierre Balmain watches in 1987, and took full ownership of the brand in 1995.
In 1998, Pierre Balmain launched its first series of miniature women's chronographs, followed by the introduction of rectangular titanium chronographs the following year. In 2000, they released a model with a polished steel mirror hidden within the watch case, and in 2001, the brand unveiled the world's first cat-eye watches at the Basel fair.
Starting in 2001, the brand dropped 'Pierre' from its name, and the watches were rebranded as Balmain.
What I love about Balmain accessories is the way they add a touch of elegance – they're not just functional, but also incredibly stylish.
The Flamea collection stands out with its distinctive strap design and natural stone dials, featuring malachite, lapis lazuli, agate, tiger's eye, and other stones (you can search for Balmain Flamea on Google to see the various options).

Where to buy, price
I picked them up over six months ago for 45,000, but the model has since increased in price, and now costs almost 48,000.
Aside from the official website, you can also find them at:
I've been checking out the Lamoda and other major online stores, and it's clear that these watches are super popular. You can find them almost everywhere, and the price is the same across the board - no discounts to be found.

Description
The watch came packaged in a large white box with the logo on it, and inside, I found a small oval case in black with a soft padding. The watch itself was nestled inside.
The package included a user manual and a warranty card, which offers a 2-year guarantee from the date of purchase. The dial is made of natural malachite and doesn't have any hour markings. It's a pretty big dial, measuring 3.4 cm in diameter.
The strap is made of metal with a foldable buckle, also known as a "butterfly" clasp. It has a rich gold PVD coating.
PVD - a super-hard coating that's applied in a vacuum: a layer of titanium nitride is deposited, followed by a thin layer of gold or chrome oxide (for darker colors).

When folded:
When unfolded:
You can see the brand's logo on the buckle and the back of the dial.
The dial's glass is made of sapphire, which is incredibly transparent, beautiful, and scratch-resistant. However, it's not unbreakable, so be careful not to drop the watch.
The movement is quartz-based.
The watch has a minimal IP rating, so you can wash your hands with it, but you shouldn't go swimming or take a shower with it.

Composition: Material 1: Hypoallergenic stainless steel - 100%; Material 2: Sapphire glass - 100%

My experience with it
When I first laid eyes on them, they knocked me off my feet with their bold, almost brash style. At the time, my heart was craving exactly that, and I happily grabbed them.
The combination of bright green and rich gold is quite specific, so it's worth considering.
These watches steal the show, plain and simple, and if you want to add a bold touch to your look, they're the perfect choice.
Despite their gypsy color, they don't look cheap; on the contrary, they look incredibly luxurious on the wrist. I prefer watches with sapphire glass - it's beautifully reflective and significantly outshines mineral glass.
The watches are quite chunky, which is exactly what I need for my broad wrist.
But, alas, they're also extremely heavy and very noticeable on the wrist due to their weight.
Just to recap, the watch face diameter is 3.4 cm, and the width is 64mm.
On the other hand, they're scratch-free, and the bracelet retains its original appearance, unlike the Versace watches (review of which is here). Although the price difference is almost 30,000, it's still worth noting.
Important: they're suitable for people like me who are allergic and can only wear gold or silver, as they're made from a material with a special anti-allergenic coating.
In short, all Balmain watches are great, except for one thing - I had to buy a bunch of jewelry in the same yellow color with malachite inserts because I used to only wear white gold.
And if I do wear these watches, I have to wear two bracelets at once to achieve the desired flashiness and dazzle the people around me.
Honestly, if I had my pick now, I'd go for the watch with the mixed metal strap - it's a combo of white and yellow metals that looks great with everything and won't break the bank. But I've never seen a green dial paired with a white strap, and I was drawn to the malachite dial because it's the real star of the show.
On the other hand, it pairs perfectly with the gold hardware on most of my bags.
xa0
In the future, I'll probably get myself a watch with a white strap because, while the yellow color is eye-catching, it gets old fast, and I'd rather have something more understated and elegant.
xa0
- Super flashy, luxurious, and attention-grabbing;
- Unique color scheme;
- High-quality strap and glass that don't get scratched easily;
xa0
- Heavy;
- The yellow color can get old.
That's all for now, thanks for reading.
