The Babymonster Oreo Collection: A Collaboration That's Worth a Try?

summarizeEditor's Summary

The Babymonster Oreo Collection is a limited-edition collaboration between the Asian market and the K-pop group Babymonster. This unique flavor combination is worth a try, but the value for money is a bit steep, especially if you're not a huge fan. I picked mine up at a local store and was excited to taste the marshmallow/whipped cream flavor. While it's not the most exciting combination, the design is pretty cool, especially for fans of the group. The packaging is nice, with a clear image of the cookies. If you're a fan of the group or just want to try something new, it's worth a shot.

This limited-edition Oreo collection is a collaboration between the Asian market and the K-pop group Babymonster. I've tried a few special-edition Oreos before, but this one caught my eye. I'd already checked out the Post Malone collaboration, which I thought was way more interesting. That one had a double flavor, which really set it apart. In contrast, this one has a pretty straightforward taste - marshmallow/whipped cream and its variants, which have been done before.
You can find these in many Asian grocery stores, including 7/11. I picked mine up at a local store, and I was excited to try them out. The value for money was a bit steep for me, but I got a discount for buying two packs together - a common promotion for Oreo that's always a good idea to take advantage of.
The price was around ~145 per pack, which is a bit steep for me, but like I said, I got a discount for buying two packs together. The shipping wasn't an issue, as I picked it up at a local store.
On the packaging, you'll see that you can find a card with one of the group members' signatures inside. There are 7 members in total, and I was curious to see which one I'd get. The build quality of the packaging was decent, but I wish they'd come with a special sleeve to keep the cookies fresh - most of mine got soggy from the high humidity.
When I opened it, I found 9 individual packs of 3 cookies each, which is actually more convenient than opening a single pack. However, while I was searching for the character designs on the cookies, I had to open all the packs at once, which wasn't ideal. The ease of use was a bit of a letdown, to be honest.
The card was at the bottom of the pack.
Each cookie has a unique design on one side, featuring the Oreo logo, and 8 different character designs on the other side. I loved the creativity that went into designing these cookies. The distribution of characters is random, so you never know which one you'll get.
The taste is pretty straightforward - marshmallow/whipped cream, which isn't really my thing. I'm not a fan of taking risks on new flavors, especially when they're not that different from what's already out there. The cookies themselves are just regular Oreo with a different design. If you're looking for something unique, you might want to try a different flavor.
This collaboration is more geared towards fans of the group, and if you're expecting something unique, you might be disappointed. It's basically just Oreo with a fancy packaging. The customer support was decent, but I didn't need to contact them. If you're looking for something new and exciting, I'd recommend checking out the Japanese KitKat flavors - they have a wide range of unique and seasonal flavors, like the Tokyo Lemon, Fuji, and Sakura ones.
