A Fun-Filled Day at Aquazavria Water Park in Kazan with the Family

summarizeEditor's Summary

We just got back from an epic day at Aquazavria Water Park in Kazan, and I'm still grinning from ear to ear. This place is a total game changer for families - the water slides are a blast for kids and adults alike, the dedicated kids' zone is a lifesaver for parents, and the warm water is just right for a fun-filled day. We were a bit skeptical about the park's past names, but Aquazavria has definitely won us over. The real surprise was the affordable prices - we scored a great deal on a flyer that got us one free kid's ticket. The only downside was the not-so-impressive restrooms, but that's a minor complaint. Overall, Aquazavria is a must-visit for any family in Kazan looking for a splashing good time.

Hello there!
We've been to Aquapark Riviera a few times, but this was our first visit to the other one in Kazan. We decided to take the kids to Aquazavria, and I wanted to share our experience.
Aquazavria used to be called Bariyonix, and I think before that it was called LetoStop. We'd never been there before, but the kids from our school who went to summer camp got flyers for Aquazavria and convinced us to take them.
Flyer But since we needed one adult ticket for a free pass on the flyer, only one kid got in for free. Still, it was cheaper than paying for two adult tickets, so we were happy with the deal.
Main Info.Name: Aquazavria (formerly Bariyonix)
Location: Kazan, Maziit Gafuri St, 46.
Prices: I'll post the screenshots from their website below. It's always a good idea to check the prices on their website before you go, as they change depending on the season and holidays.
Weekday prices:
Weekend prices:
We also managed to buy tickets online from their website, and sometimes they have discounts with promo codes. However, with our flyer, we had to purchase the tickets at the counter, so we bought them on the spot.
Working Hours are also available on their website:
Aquazavria is located in a building that also houses Mazapark - an entertainment center, previously known as Fun24. There's also an Oceanarium here, which we visited after the water park.
To get into the water park, you've got to take the elevator up to the second floor. That's where you'll find the lockers and the ticket counter. When you buy your tickets, they give you these bracelets: red for adults, yellow for kids. The red ones have a spending limit inside the park, which is currently 3,000 rubles. When you leave, you pay for whatever you've spent on the bracelet.I love that the kids' bracelets are only needed to unlock the lockers, so you can just stash them in the adult locker. That's super convenient for me, since my kids are total scatterbrains!
The lockers are nice and tidy, and they open with a mini-screen and your bracelet. It's a great touch that the locker number lights up on the screen when you hold up your bracelet, just in case you forget what number it is (which, let's be real, can happen to anyone).
Lockers
LockersSince we were there for the first time, we changed in the lockers area. Everyone changes there, of course - and we did too. I was a bit worried we'd be awkward without any stalls, but it turns out there are actually changing rooms just a little further down. There are two regular rooms and one 'mom and baby' room with a changing table. On the way out, we changed in there instead.
One of the best things about this water park is the theming. It's all about dinosaurs, and it's really well done. As you walk in, you'll see a sign that says 'Bari-onix' - it's a type of dinosaur, and it sets the tone for the whole park. Even though the name has changed to Aquazavria, the theming remains the same. And let me tell you, my kids are absolutely loving it. They're running around, pointing out all the different dinosaurs they see. 'Look, there's a triceratops! And there's a tyrannosaurus!' - I've been listening to that for the past 15 minutes, and it's been adorable.
Dinosaurs at the entrance
And another dinosaurThe temperature in the park is nice and comfortable, and the water in the pools is great too. Although, I have to say, the wave pool is a bit warmer than the others.
Tyrannosaurus
Dinosaurs everywhereI wanted to mention the different zones in the park. One of the things that really stood out to me was the area for the youngest kids - the octopus pool. It's perfect for little ones, with gentle slopes and tiny water features.
Pool for the little onesI loved the fact that the sauna, which they call the 'heater', was right opposite the pool. It was great to warm up and watch the kids playing in the pool from the window. My little ones are not so little anymore, so I could even join them for a bit.
The toilet, unfortunately, was a different story. It looked like it was in dire need of a renovation and didn't feel very clean. It smelled pretty bad, and I'd rather go to the toilets near the changing rooms - they're much cleaner and more pleasant.
Next to the 'frogs' pool for the little ones was the pool for slightly older kids. It's a bit deeper, and there are a few water slides. That's where we headed first.
Kid's water slidesThere were instructors everywhere - young guys and girls who would blow their whistles and swap locations every now and then.
We also saw a jacuzzi, but we didn't feel like getting in. It's right by the entrance, and next to it is the 'Tarzan' attraction where you can jump into the water from a running start. Kids under 12 aren't allowed, and I'm not a fan of that kind of thing, so we gave it a miss.
Next to the Tarzan's Treehouse, there's a wave pool that we went back to three or four times. It's deep enough that you don't want to be at the bottom without a grown-up. You can swim, bob up and down on the waves, or try to 'catch' them, or just sit on the side and wait for the next wave. This is probably the most popular pool in the water park, and it's always packed, but not as much as Riviera, so you've got a bit more space.
Wave poolFurther down, there's a deeper pool. It's only safe for kids with grown-ups, and you can slide in from some of the rides. My daughter rode the pink slide and I caught her at the bottom, since the pool is pretty deep and she could only stand on her tiptoes. There's also a net nearby where you can play with a ball, and apparently, they offer aqua aerobics classes in this pool as part of the membership.
Slides
Pool and slidesGetting out of this pool leads directly to the outside area, which is great for a refreshing dip. The water temperature is surprisingly comfortable on a chilly autumn or winter day.I was a bit disappointed by the number of slides, though. One of them was closed, and the others had age restrictions - you need to be at least 15 to ride them. The slides with the inflatable rafts were open to kids as young as 12, but only if they're accompanied by an adult. I ended up taking turns with my kids on those, and it was enough to keep us entertained for at least a year - I got so tired of those slides after just one day!
I was too scared to try the Cunami slide, and I'm pretty sure my kids wouldn't have been allowed to ride it either. It looks a bit wobbly, and I didn't feel like getting on it. It seemed like I wasn't the only one who felt that way, as not many people were brave enough to try it.
My daughter loved the Black Hole slide, but my son wasn't a fan. After we got off, we both ended up tumbling over with the inflatable raft - luckily, the water wasn't too deep, and my son was wearing a life jacket. Still, he was pretty upset, so I think it's a good idea to make kids wear them, even if they're confident swimmers. My kids do go to swimming lessons at school, but they're not quite there yet.
The Green Anaconda slide was a hit with everyone, though - we rode it multiple times.
Sliding pool and water slides There's a cafe and bar with drinks in the water park. We grabbed a bite to eat at the cafe, which had fast food, pizza, drinks, and regular dishes like spaghetti with a meatball, for example. I didn't check out the bar. We spent most of our money on food and the wristband. They've also got little aquariums and stools set up: you can try fish pedicures for a separate fee.
There's also magnetic fishing: the guys set up a mini pool, launched in some plastic fish, and you have to catch them with a magnet on a rod. I'm sure lots of people have seen this before – you can buy it at most kids' stores, or used to be able to at Fix Price, anyway. But they're charging an arm and a leg for it here – 250 rubles for 15 minutes, or 350 with the extras.
Our Impressions and a Quick Comparison to Another Water Park.
We had an amazing time at Aquazavria, and the kids were totally stoked. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take as many photos as I'd have liked – the kids were dragging me into the water, so I quickly stashed my phone in the locker and went to join them.
Compared to Riviera, Aquazavria is a bit smaller, but there seems to be more to do for the kids. For adults, though, Riviera might be more interesting.
Crocodile
Next to the 'frog' rideI was really glad to see that there were fewer people here than at the other water park, and no ridiculously long lines for the slides. We waited at most 2-3 people in front of us, and sometimes not even that, since there were no lines at all. It's super convenient that they have an automatic lift for the inner tubes, so you don't have to lug them up the stairs yourself. In Riviera, I'm not sure if they have one or if it's always broken, but when I was there a few times, people had to carry the tubes up the stairs themselves, which isn't exactly fun. Aquazoo, on the other hand, has thought this one through and you don't have to carry anything. Well, almost. There was one time when the lift stopped working or broke, and I did have to carry a tube up the stairs. But it started working again soon after.
As it turned out, the price difference between the two water parks isn't that big in the winter. In the summer, the prices are more different, probably because Riviera has a beach and slides outside, while Aquazoo only has the water park itself.
A Few Words About the Downsides.
When we visited, the cleanliness was all good, everything was spotless and tidy. The only thing that needed some attention was the restroom I mentioned earlier.
The exit from the showers into the locker rooms was a bit slippery. There's a warning sign about it, so you just have to be careful.
And the hair dryers? Half of them don't work, and the ones that do are super weak. You'll be drying your hair for ages, or you'll have to leave with wet hair. It's not a big deal in the summer, but in the winter, it's nice to leave the water park with dry hair.
FansAfter spending around seven hours at the water park, I have to admit I was exhausted by the end of the day. But getting the kids out was a whole different story - they were having the time of their lives and didn't want to leave. I finally managed to convince them to head home early, and they were beaming with excitement and memories. So, I'd definitely recommend Aquazavria water park for a family visit!
Thanks for reading!
