What's the movie about?

The cinematography is decent, but the jerky camera movements in some scenes are a bit annoying.
Nelly looks older than she is – she's supposed to be 23, but to me, she looked like she was in her mid-30s.
The patients' hair in the psychiatric ward in the 19th century looks ridiculously long and fluffy – it's pretty funny, actually.
Otherwise, it's all pretty standard.
Characters-wise, Nelly does a decent job in her role, but one thing that stands out is how old she looks – she's supposed to be 23, but to me, she looked like she was in her mid-30s.
I love that she played Wendy in the 91-year-old film.
Now she's a bit less vibrant.
Despite not being the sharpest tool in the shed, the character sometimes makes mistakes - which is pretty obvious wouldn't lead to anything good.
Sister Gradie
This sister is super well-drawn and vibrant.
The actress nailed the role. She's a strict, proper lady.
Although, you can't help but agree that her rules often helped the patients and made sense.
This character reminded me of the nurse from 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'.
Psychiatrist
He's another really well-drawn character - charming, likable, and easy on the eyes.
I wish I could tell you everything about this show and open up.
It kind of reminds me of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.
Bates
I'm not sure what they were going for here, but they definitely made this character more appealing than I expected.
Plus, in the actual history, Bates doesn't appear until much later, so it's like they just threw him in there for the sake of the picture.
My Thoughts
Overall, I enjoyed the show. It's not as impressive as the second season of American Horror Story, where the character of Lana was basically based on the real Nell.
What really sets this book apart is its genre-bending style - it's a mix of historical fiction and fantasy, based on a true story from Elizabeth Jane Cochrane's (aka Nellie Bly) life.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but the way the author weaves together fact and fiction is really engaging.
Don't expect any gruesome or violent scenes - it's a relatively tame read.
Despite some initial reservations, I found myself fully immersed in the story.
It's definitely worth the time investment to learn more about Nellie Bly's remarkable life and accomplishments - she even broke a record set by Jules Verne, no less!
Honestly, this movie was good, but not great.
I'm not sure what was missing, but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me.
