Editor's Summary
I've been feeding my cat AlphaPet cat food for a while now, and it's been a bit of a mixed bag. The price is 1000 rubles for 1.5 kg, and it's made in Russia. I used to feed my cat 1st Choice, but they changed their production, and the quality went down. I started looking for alternatives, and AlphaPet was one of them. So far, it's been a decent find, but it's not without its issues, like some cons I'll get to in a minute.

Hey fellow pet parents!
Today I want to share my experience with AlphaPet cat food – it's been a mixed bag for me.
Here's the thing: I bought this food at Auchan, and you can find it at most pet stores.
The price is 1000 rubles for 1.5 kg, and it's made in Russia.
I used to feed my cat 1st Choice from the get-go, and it was always a great option. But then they switched from Canadian to Italian production, and the quality took a hit. Still, it was the best choice for us. After the SVO thing happened, this food became a luxury item, and I wasn't about to break the bank for it. I started looking for alternatives and tried a bunch of different brands before settling on AlphaPet. It's a hit with my cat, and I haven't noticed any adverse effects. Plus, the price is right – it's a good value for money.
My cat's been eating this food for two years now, and everything's been normal: regular poops, a healthy coat, no stinky breath. But there's one issue – my cat's eating way too much of it. 1.5 kg doesn't last a month, which is weird, since other foods didn't have this problem. As a result, my cat's gained some weight. It's not critical, but it's noticeable.
So, for now, we'll stick with this food while I keep looking for a better option that's easier on the wallet.
I'm a bit disappointed, to be honest.
