Impressions after 2 Years of Use. A Good Thermos, but Some Nuances to Consider.
Hello everyone!
After two years of active use, I'd like to share my impressions of the Alpenkok thermos, 0.4 liters.
I ordered it as a gift for my husband on Ozon. It cost 650 rubles at the time.
In person, it's just as attractive as it looks on the picture. The color is very pleasant, the silicone insert on the body is practical, the comfortable size, the convenient button for opening/closing the valve, the good drinking hole (the liquid flows out at a comfortable pressure), and the suitable volume for one or two people. It's never leaked!
As you can see from the photo, it hasn't cracked or deteriorated after two years.
The most important plus is its ability to keep the temperature for a long time! We filled it with boiling water and after 2 hours, it felt like it hadn't lost a single degree! You drink and burn yourself.
We always make ourselves coffee with milk in it for a long trip and enjoy a truly hot drink for 3-4 hours.
So, you can confidently pour a drink into it at a comfortable temperature for drinking and not worry that it will cool down.
Now, a few points to pay attention to:
Due to the fact that the thermos lid doesn't have a noticeable difference between the pressed button and the released one, we often forgot to check it and, thinking it was closed, threw it into a bag, where it happily spilled hot liquid onto other things.
Maybe this only happens to us clumsy people, but I'd suggest checking the button anyway.
And the second point. We only recently discovered this. After each use, we, of course, washed the thermos both inside and out. But due to the non-disassemblable mechanism, some kind of deposit accumulated inside the lid, which over time increased in volume and started to mold. It didn't affect the taste or smell, but during the next wash, black clots started to come out.
It's a terrible feeling when you realize you just drank from it.
Now we're thinking of how to disassemble the lid to thoroughly clean it. And we don't want to break it, and we don't want to drink from it anymore.
So, the second suggestion is to very thoroughly clean the lid after each use. Maybe even soak it in a soapy solution to prevent anything from accumulating inside.
Most likely, this is a problem with many similar thermoses with non-disassemblable lids.
Overall, the thermos is excellent! It performs its functions perfectly, and if you pay attention to the above nuances and don't make our mistakes, I think it will serve you faithfully for many years.
Good day and happy shopping!
