I'm a short-nail kinda girl, and I love how convenient they are. My daughter's got some nail issues, so I'm always on the lookout for a tech who can work with her delicate skin.
I was able to catch up on my favorite show while I waited for my procedure - time flew by, and before I knew it, my nails were done.
Now, about the not-so-great part...
I didn't notice them opening the tools while I was distracted, but I did catch a whiff of that dry, hot smell - hopefully, everything was okay.
The actual manicure was pretty pleasant, but then I saw them cutting my cuticles with nail clippers... never seen that before, and it was a bit of a shock. One of my nails was a bit damaged, but I'm sure it'll grow back quickly.
But let's get to the real issue - the nail polish itself. They applied a base coat and said it would last well on short nails and be flexible. Unfortunately, my gel polish started to chip after just a few days - major letdown.
At first, I was totally stoked with my nails, but by day five, I noticed a small chip. By day six, I had two more chips - first time that's happened to me, considering how quickly I usually get nail polish to chip. Normally, it lasts around 10 days, but these nails looked fine until the chips appeared. I didn't bother reaching out, as I'd seen similar issues in other reviews and didn't want to waste my time. For me, a lost customer is worse than any complaint.
I'm torn between giving this salon a higher rating and a lower one. On the one hand, they've got a great location, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. On the other hand, the nail polish issue was a major letdown, and I'm not sure if I'd go back for another manicure.
Maybe I'll give them another shot in the future, but for now, I'm sticking with my current go-to salon.
