My Disappointing Experience with Allureparfum.ru: A Cautionary Tale

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently had a super disappointing experience with Allureparfum.ru, a website that looks all polished and professional but turns out to be a total scam. They'll fill 3ml sample bottles with a perfume that's similar to the original, but if you order a 10ml or larger bottle, you'll get a cheap imitation that's barely recognizable. The worst part is that their customer support is basically non-existent, and they don't even offer a return policy. I'm sharing my experience to warn others about this fake online store. Don't waste your money on Allureparfum.ru – there are plenty of other reputable online perfume shops out there that offer great value for money. If you're looking for a good deal, be cautious and do your research before making a purchase. Check the build quality, shipping, and customer support before handing over your hard-earned cash. Trust me, it's worth it in the long run.

I recently had a really disappointing experience with Allureparfum.ru. Their website looks super polished and detailed, but it turns out they're scammers. I wouldn't have expected it from anyone, let alone a reputable online store.
The thing that got me is that they'll fill 3ml sample bottles with a perfume that's eerily similar to the original, but order a 10ml or larger bottle and they'll just rip you off with some weird, sticky liquid that barely has a scent. I mean, even if you stick your nose in the bottle, you can barely smell anything. It's like there's just a single drop of the actual perfume in the 10ml bottle, and the rest is... I don't know, maybe some oil or something.
To prove I'm not just talking out of my hat, here are my purchases.
Here's the same perfume, but in a 10ml sample.
It's pretty obvious where I bought these samples from, right?
But the real kicker is yet to come. I have two identical samples of the same perfume, bought from the same online store, but they smell completely different. The second one barely has a scent, but it's got this weird, oily texture.
I'm writing about this online store operator because they sent me a polite message, but then they started being super condescending in their response to my complaint. I wrote a detailed letter to their customer support, and they basically told me that I'm an idiot. They sent me a photo of some Hayati perfume bottle, claiming it was the one they used to fill my 10ml bottle. Are you kidding me? They think that's a solid argument? It's just a random bottle they found on their shelf. Why should I trust that it's the same perfume as the one in my bottle? And why should I ignore my own sense of smell? I've got their 3ml sample bottle, and the scent is completely different.
After that, they just stopped responding to me. They thought their little 'explanation' was enough to shut me up. They refused to publish my review on their website without giving me any reason why.
I called them, and they sent me back to customer support. They didn't respond to any of my follow-up emails.
But I'm a pretty observant person, and I noticed something interesting. I think it's a pretty good evidence that they filled my 10ml bottle with fake perfume. Let's take a closer look.
We'll spray the fake Hayati perfume from the 10ml bottle on my wrist. And look at that - it leaves a greasy stain and doesn't evaporate. It just lies there as a greasy, sticky stain. (Other perfumes usually evaporate quickly)
Next, we'll put the cap on a clean piece of paper.
Check out the giant stain from the cap. I lifted the bottle, and it leaked and left another giant stain.
See it clearly?
Now let's grab another perfume, bought from Letual (no one doubts its authenticity, right?), and spray it on this same piece of paper. (the smudge on the left side of the bottle) And let's wait a bit to see if it fades or leaves a similar oily stain? Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen! AllurParfum, you can make your bet too!
After some time passes, what do we see? The stain from the original perfume is barely visible on a light background, but the giant stain from the so-called 'original' perfume by AllurParfum scammers remains and shines beautifully in the sunlight. And how did this happen? Hmm...
People! Why aren't you filing complaints with the consumer protection agency? This is a real scam. They've already fooled dozens of people, and you're all just writing reviews without doing anything on the legal level.
Oil-based perfumes can be legit, but the seller needs to own up to it. And oil-based perfumes are way cheaper. On WB, oil-based perfumes cost around 300 rubles for 30 ml. I paid 1,150 rubles for 10 ml of oil-based perfume. (The original product's price for 100 ml in Le Galion during sales can be bought for 11,000 rubles)
I'm speechless. And what's even more astonishing is that they don't seem to understand when they shouldn't be taking advantage of the customer, and it's simpler to just refund the money when their scam is exposed.
I strongly do not recommend the online store Allyur Perfum. I'm just amazed that competent authorities haven't taken an interest in this store yet and haven't protected their citizens from deception. It's long overdue.
P.S. Lawyers, if there are any among the readers, please advise, who thinks that this response to the complaint is legally justified? ("In our club, it's customary to believe gentlemen on their word"? ) That's laughable. Without accountability, crime breeds, that's what I'd like to say about this.
P.S.2 Well, I did end up returning the defective perfume back.
I'm sharing the details.
- I received the counterfeit on June 19th;
- I decided to write to the online store Allyur Perfum about the quality of their perfume on July 3rd;
They kept passing me around between consultants and the customer service department for a long time.
- They offered to return the perfume on July 18th, sending me a tracking code for the return via SDEK;
I have to admit, my trust in this store was at zero after a month of back-and-forth. I was torn between sending them a fake product or going straight to Rospotrebnadzor. What if I sent the product back and they just ignored me? But since the law requires the affected party to resolve the conflict with the seller first, I decided to send the faulty product back.
- I sent the return on July 29;
- The store picked up the product on July 31, as evidenced by the note from SDEK.
They took the product, supposedly for inspection, but no one was in a hurry to report the results. Although, they did promise to inspect it... I have a documented screenshot...
Okay, I thought, I'll give them some time, I won't bother them. Inspection, inspection, right? I went on a trip, came back, and the inspection was supposed to be over by then. But that's not what happened. On my return, there was nothing on my email.
- I wrote a request through the RETURN CONTACT FORM on August 10!!! (there's one in the store, then the appeal is recorded, and you get a notification on your email, and the customer support team is supposed to respond, otherwise, they might ignore you... like, your email got lost with the postman)
- I have to give them credit, the response came the same day. Of course, with their signature sarcasm...
The scent itself wasn't a major issue for me, but what really bothered me was how diluted it was. And to make matters worse, the bottle design was a total fail - the perfume just poured out of the cap whenever I opened it, leaving a greasy mess everywhere. I was really disappointed in the lack of a decent solution to this problem from the seller.
To cut to the chase, I did get my money back, minus the cost of shipping. I paid 1,115 rubles for the tester, and they gave me 700 rubles back, plus I got to keep the velvet pouch as a bonus (no complaints about that).
If you're persistent and keep pushing, they'll eventually give you your money back. It's not a guarantee, but if you spend enough time and effort, you might get some of your money back. Maybe even all of it, if you manage to save the liquid they poured into the bottle. But don't quote me on that...
P.S.3 I have to say, this wasn't my first purchase from Allureparfume. As an organizer of group buys, my team and I have made multiple orders from their site - but it wasn't until this time that I realized something was off with their fragrances. You'd think they'd appreciate repeat business, especially from a bulk buyer like us. But no, it seems that if you're not on the up-and-up, you can't keep up. Below are some photos of our previous purchases. Interestingly, the girls who were part of the group buy with me didn't return for the second purchase from this site. So, all our previous purchases...
Of course, all these little gift boxes are super cute and make you want to order more, ignoring the fact that something's not quite right. I don't know how often you'll actually get the real deal among the sample bottles - I'm no expert, after all. But overall, everything looked neat and tidy. The packaging and shipping were fast, just the way I like it.
And if it weren't for that one glaring incident where they sent me a weird, scentless liquid, I might not have raised the alarm.
It's really disappointing to be let down. Allureparfume's site is actually really informative and user-friendly, so I'll give them credit where credit is due.
I've gotta say, I'm really disappointed in allurparfume's customer service after my experience with the Pepe Jeans perfume, which I also bought from them. The big box on the left with the UK flag is a pretty clear indication that they're not taking their customers seriously. I get it, though - if you're going to rip people off, you've got to keep them coming back for more. As they say, 'no fool, no fun.' If you want to see the full story, check out my review from the beginning - it's got all the juicy details, complete with pictures and DIY experiments to help you understand what's going on.
