Alize Puffy Color Yarn (Soft & Quick)

I'm a big fan of this Alize Puffy Color Yarn - it's seriously changed the game for me as a knitter. It's super soft, dries in no time, and delivers quick results without sacrificing quality or comfort. If you're a knitting enthusiast, this is a must-have for your next project.

My DIY Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket Adventure

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm no crochet expert, but I dove headfirst into making a DIY Alize Puffy blanket, and I'm stoked with the result. It's a cozy, imperfect masterpiece that taught me a new skill and gave me a soft, plush finish. Sure, I encountered some issues with the stitching, but that's all part of the learning process. Considering the ease of use and the fact that you don't need any special hooks or needles, I think it's a great value for money.

I've always been fascinated by the idea of crocheting a blanket from scratch, but I'm not exactly the crafty type. So, when I decided to give it a try, I was both excited and intimidated.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
To start, I needed to pick out some yarn. I went with Alize Puffy, but I was overwhelmed by all the different factors to consider - the size of the stitches, the length of the skein, and so on. In the end, I settled on a budget-friendly option and chose a pretty pastel-colored yarn.
I want to be upfront - this blanket isn't going to win any awards. I'm not trying to pretend that it's perfect, and I'm okay with the fact that it has some mistakes in the stitching. For me, it's all about the experience and learning a new skill.

Key Details:
Type: Crochet yarn Brand: Alize Puffy Price: Around 850 rubles for 5 skeins Where to Buy: Marketplaces, craft stores, and I actually got mine on WB
So, where do I start?
I headed over to YouTube and started searching for tutorials. Unfortunately, a lot of the videos were really disjointed. They'd show you how to start, but not how to finish. Or they'd show you how to crochet, but not how to actually start the project. I was starting to get frustrated until I finally found a really detailed video that walked me through the entire process - from counting the stitches to binding off and finishing the blanket.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
I was excited to start working on this blanket, but I quickly realized that the pattern requires counting the right number of stitches. The thing is, the stitches on the video were a lot larger than the ones I got. I was trying to make an 80x80 throw, but I ended up with a 90x95 one instead. To be honest, math isn't really my thing, so I might have done something wrong. The good news is that all 5 skeins of yarn fit perfectly into the finished product!
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
At first, I was doing okay, but then I started following the video instructions to repeat the rows. That's when things started to go wrong. I thought I understood what I was doing, but somehow the pattern didn't turn out right. I'd get it going in one direction, and then I'd mess it up. I had to rip it out and start over a few times. If you look closely at the beginning, you can see where I went wrong.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
Later on, it started to make more sense, and the pattern became easier to follow. The video shows you how to do the border around the whole throw, but I only did one side. I had enough yarn left over, so I decided to use it up instead of leaving it behind. That's why one edge of my throw has a different pattern. For me, it's not a big deal.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
I do want to mention that the quality of the yarn isn't great. It tends to fray in your hands, and some of the stitches are uneven. You can see it in the finished product, but it's not too noticeable.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
I have to say, the yarn feels super soft and fluffy to the touch, but it can sometimes get all electric-y and give me a shock. As for washing, I tossed the finished throw in the washing machine on a delicate cycle with a fabric softener sheet, and it came out looking brand new - no shrinkage, no pilling, still super soft and fluffy.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
Knitting-wise, it wasn't too painful, but I did spend around 5 evenings on it - not too shabby for a beginner like me! I watched some YouTube tutorials to get the hang of it, and I think I've got the basics down. Now, I'm not too excited to start a new project, but maybe later, with some better yarn and more patience.
My Alize Puffy Crochet Blanket
✦ Verdict
I have to say, buying the yarn myself ended up being almost twice as cost-effective as buying the finished throw. Plus, knitting can be super fun, whether you're an adult who's never tried it before or a kid - it's easy to rip it apart and start again, and there are endless possibilities for patterns, colors, and designs. I highly recommend giving it a shot!
