I've got a story to share about conquering the chaos in my makeup bag and a small adventure on the vast expanse of AliExpress. It's all about a transparent acrylic storage box that I stumbled upon by chance.
It looks like crystal, I swearThe Story of the Purchase
I was browsing AliExpress, looking for New Year's trinkets for gifts, when I saw a banner with a suspiciously enticing offer: "3 items for 99 rubles." The conditions were to place an order from the selection of items for 99 rubles and wait for the items to arrive. Usually, such promotions make me raise an eyebrow and roll my eyes, thinking, "Oh yeah, the only one who's gonna benefit from this is the seller." But this time, my gaze landed on the storage box, and I decided to participate because the price wasn't too steep.
Organizer for makeup from acrylic reviewsOn the picture, it looked super cool: several segments of transparent, convex acrylic that beautifully refracts light. I immediately imagined how perfectly my brushes, pencils, and entire army of lipsticks and lip glosses would fit into these compartments. The thought "I need it!" flashed like a neon sign. Before and after collageBecause my old glass container, where standing cosmetics were stored, was, to put it mildly, quite embarrassing – it had become cloudy and contained only two segments in total.Everything was previously jumbled up in this boxI thought to myself: 297 rubles for three items – even if I got a complete disaster or nothing at all, it wouldn't be a catastrophe. I'm a practical person, so I went ahead and monitored how much this thing costs here.
Finally, the order was organized by segmentsFor the same organizer on Ozon, I had to pay up to 250 rubles. I wasn't too worried about taking a risk, and I was even excited. Plus, the shipping was free, so I didn't really lose anything. I added another organizer with a box and a pack of socks to the cart (because socks are always useful), placed the order, and then completely forgot about it.Organizer for cosmetics from acrylic reviewsI checked Ozon now, and they're selling the same box for 99 rubles. It's coming from China, judging by the delivery times, but it's a good product. The cost of my purchase on Aliexpress is on the left, and the screenshot from Ozon is on the rightDelivery and ReceivingI vaguely remembered ordering from Aliexpress, but I didn't receive any SMS notifications or updates on the package's movement. Out of curiosity, I checked the website during the New Year's holidays - and I was shocked.Organizer for cosmetics from acrylic reviewsThe package had been sitting at the delivery point (it was Magnt Market for me) for a week, and the delivery deadline was January 12th. In my opinion, this is a serious mistake on the platform's part. If I hadn't been curious, the package would have been sent back to China.Packaging and First Impressions
I picked up the package. The packaging was just a standard shipping bag, no box whatsoever. Besides the organizer, there were also some socks and another organizer in the package. But the box arrived intact, without any cracks or scratches.
Organizer for cosmetics from acrylic reviewsIt feels nice to the touch, heavy, and sturdy. The acrylic is of high quality, transparent, and has beautiful, wavy walls. It really shines and looks more expensive than it is.Organizer for cosmetics from acrylic reviewsThe edges of the organizer are well-made, without any rough spots or cloudy inclusions. It feels solid in my hands, not flimsy. Overall, it reminds me of my grandmother's crystal salad bowls, but it's not as fragile or heavy.Organizer for cosmetics from acrylic reviewsFunctionality and Dimensions
Dimensions (8x18.5 cm, segment depth ~6.5 cm).
These parameters turned out to be perfect for my cosmetics. I did a thorough clean-out of my old container and settled the new organizer's segments with my cosmetics:
One of the things I love about this organizer is that it's got separate sections for all my makeup brushes – they're no longer cramped in a single box and are now right in front of me. I've got a decent amount: foundation, blush, and eyeshadow. The second section is dedicated to lip balms and glosses. Finally, I can see all my shades of pink without having to dig through a cluttered box.The third section is for my eyeliners.I've got to say, the bottom of the box doesn't slip around – it's securely in place. All that chaos that used to be scattered across various containers and boxes is now neatly organized in one stylish, compact station. Having it on my shelf is a breath of fresh air, and I'm genuinely thrilled with this purchase.
Acrylic cosmetic organizer reviewsI've also noticed that now that everything's out in the open, I can be more ruthless about getting rid of things I don't use. A couple of unused eyeshadow shades are already looking like they're on borrowed time – they're taking up space and counting down the days until I finally get rid of them.
If I'm being honest, I'm completely smitten with this organizer. It's been a game-changer for my daily routine, and I'm so glad I invested in it. It's sturdy, functional, and looks amazing.
Acrylic cosmetic organizer reviewsIf you spot a similar deal online, I'd highly recommend snapping it up. It's a small investment that's brought me a huge sense of satisfaction and order. My makeup corner is now tidy and looks great – I wish I'd known how good this organizer was, I'd have bought one for my friends too. But, unfortunately, you can't predict quality until you've tried it out – like with that disappointing t-shirt I reviewed recently.
Ak Bars is upset: why is my image on such a fabric? A disappointing review.
