I wanted to show my kid how to plant and grow plants. I bought this affordable set for that purpose. I thought the strawberry plant in a pot would look great on the windowsill.

The strawberry seeds were so small that their producer packed them in a plastic syringe. I thought they looked like dust, and I even wondered if they were seeds at all.
I poured the soil into the pot myself, but I let my kid handle the watering can.
We sowed the seeds together with my kid in the pot. To do this, I first poured a certain amount onto my child's palm, and then they sprinkled it into the pot from there.

The planting took place on January 8, 2025, and the first shoots appeared on January 19.

It turned out that all 8 seedlings died 😔. I still don't understand what went wrong. There was enough heat, light, and water. Despite frequent watering, the stem of all the plants dried out, while the seed leaves remained green for some time.
I had to explain to my kid that plants can also die, even if you take care of them.
As a result, we were left with a pot of soil, and I think we'll replant it with geraniums in the spring.
