Abu Dhabi and Dubai Tour Nightmare

We visited Abu Dhabi from August 1st to 12th, 2024, and had a disastrous experience with this tour company.

Day 1: Arrival and Meeting with the Hotel Representative

Upon arrival, we were not contacted by the tour representative, and we had to reach out to them to arrange a meeting. The meeting was scheduled for the next day.

Day 2: Excursion to Abu Dhabi and Dubai

We were provided with information about two excursions: one to Abu Dhabi and the other to Dubai. We paid $350 for the two of us and were told to wait for 6th August to go to Abu Dhabi and 9th August to go to Dubai.

However, on August 5th at 9 PM, we were informed that the excursion to Abu Dhabi was being postponed due to technical reasons and would be rescheduled for August 11th or cancelled. We were told that the excursion to Dubai would go ahead as planned.

Excursion to Dubai

The excursion to Dubai was a disaster. We spent 1.5 hours in traffic without a guide, and the only information we received was at a level suitable for 5th-grade students.

The excursion included visiting a museum (not the museum itself, but the area outside), taking a 52-story elevator ride to see the view (175 dirhams per person), visiting a local covered market (free entry), taking a 30-minute boat ride, and eating.

We were also taken to the Dubai Mall, where we were given 3 hours to shop. However, we were not allowed to take the elevator to the top of the Burj Khalifa.

After the excursion, we were left to fend for ourselves, and we ended up spending $90 per person on shopping.

Excursion to Abu Dhabi

On August 11th, we were picked up from our hotel at 9:30 AM and taken to the Louvre Museum, which we could have easily visited on our own by taking a taxi (20 minutes maximum) and buying tickets at the entrance.

We were not given any information about the museum, and we were left to explore on our own for an hour.

We were then taken to a date market, where we had 15 minutes to shop, and then we were taken to our hotel for lunch.

After lunch, we were taken to the Presidential Palace, where we were given tickets and left to explore on our own for an hour.

We were then taken to a mosque, where we were given tickets and left to explore on our own for an hour.

The total cost for this excursion was $85 per person.

Conclusion

Our experience with this tour company was disastrous. We were left to fend for ourselves, and we ended up spending a lot of money on shopping and transportation.

We would not recommend this tour company to anyone. If you are planning to visit the Emirates, do not book any excursions with this company. You can easily visit the main tourist attractions on your own by taking a taxi or using Uber.
