I went back to this series for the third installment, and I'm glad I did. Our heroine's moved on from the previous drama, shed a few pounds, and landed a promotion at her new job - plus a potential love interest on the horizon. But things quickly take a turn when she's abroad, dealing with family drama and her coworkers' antics.

I went back to this series for the third installment, and I'm glad I did. Our heroine's moved on from the previous drama, she's lost some weight, and she's got a new job with a promotion - and a potential love interest on the horizon.
After a brief respite from Svetka's demands, Olya's off abroad, but there's more drama waiting for her. On the job, she's trying to build a team, but her coworkers are all about scheming and getting her involved in their antics. And to make matters worse, her family's gotten involved - her sister's not about to let her live comfortably, especially not when there's a potential profit to be made from the family's harvest, which she'd rather do with some help, of course.
The family's decided to sell the apartment, and our heroine's not exactly thrilled about it. Just another thing to deal with in her everyday life, I guess.
I have to say, the book's got some pretty old-school ideas about how things should be done - it's a bit jarring to see how our modern sensibilities clash with the heroine's more straightforward approach to problems. But one thing that's familiar is the way she tackles things head-on, with a healthy dose of boldness and a willingness to take risks.
The book's got a real emotional punch, with moments of satisfaction at the heroine's successes and frustration at her missteps. It's a wild ride, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.
I highly recommend reading on to see how this fish-out-of-water story plays out - there are only two books left in the series, and I'm curious to see what happens next.
