Specifications
I was planning a trip to Suzdal-Vladimir in mid-August, but navigating unfamiliar places isn't exactly my forte, so I stuck with a familiar tourist street - Big Moscow Street. I'd stayed at the 'Golden Gates' hotel there before, and it was great, but this time the room rate was almost 7,000 rubles. So, I started looking for cheaper options nearby, and that's when I found the 'Levitanny' hotel. The room photos and reviews looked good, and the location was perfect for me.
EntranceCheck-in was supposed to be at 14:00, but we ended up arriving at 17:30 after a trip to Suzdal, so we took a taxi and got dropped off on the other side of the entrance, near the 'Panorama' restaurant. I think they have a hotel there too. The 'Levitanny' hotel entrance is actually on Big Moscow Street, and you can get in through a gate.
Working hoursWhen we opened the door to the hotel, we were greeted by a big lobby with some comfy couches, a huge screen on the wall, and an admin desk. There was no one around, so we checked in in no time and got our room key card for the first floor.
ScreenThe hotel doesn't have a lift, so you have to take the stairs to get to the higher floors. That might be a bit of a hassle with a lot of luggage.
StairsThe room was a bit small, but that was mentioned in the booking details. The interior design was clearly thought out by a professional.
BedThe bedspread and curtains were made of the same fabric, and all the furniture in the room was white.
WindowThere was a mini-fridge and a kettle, and a bottle of mineral water on the table.
Kettle, tea set, waterThere was also a tea set on the table.
CupboardIn the wardrobe, I found an electronic safe.
SafeI was really impressed by the old-school electrical switches - not just the switches, but the wiring too.
SwitchesThe bathroom was a nice, clean white.
BathroomThere were hygiene kits near the sink, which was super convenient for us travelers - and the disposable slippers were a nice touch too.
Hygiene kitWe had three clean, white towels each, and the water pressure was great.
BathtubThe hairdryer was a lifesaver for me, since my hair takes forever to air-dry.
HairdryerThere was a TV right in front of the bed, and a mini-fridge too.
TV and mini-fridgeThe air conditioner was cleverly placed in the little corridor outside the room, so the airflow didn't hit the bed.
Air conditioner and entranceWhen we checked in, we got a guest card with a discount voucher for the 'Panorama' cafe - but we overslept and missed the breakfast deal. We went out in the evening and came back late, so we just crashed.
Room cardsIt was super quiet in the room, and the window looked out onto a peaceful courtyard. We didn't hear a peep from the street outside. Our kid slept in till 10 am, but we didn't have anywhere to rush to - check-out was at 12 pm anyway.BraSo we took our time, had a cup of tea in the room, and slowly got ready to leave.
ServicesThe room had a folder with all sorts of info - hotel services, room prices, and so on.
PricesAnd let's talk about the damage charges - they're not exactly small, so I'd advise against causing any trouble.
Damage costsBy the way, when we checked out, no one even bothered to inspect the room. We just left our cards with the admin and called it a day.
Room doorsThe hotel has Wi-Fi, which was a lifesaver since mobile internet didn't work in the city center.
LobbyWe absolutely loved our stay at the Levitan hotel. The rooms are cozy, well-equipped, and in a fantastic location - there are tons of cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops nearby. Plus, all the main attractions are within walking distance. We even walked from the hotel to the train station without any issues. I'd give this place a solid 5 stars and highly recommend it!
