A So-So Experience at 5642 HEIGHTS

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm not gonna lie, our experience at 5642 HEIGHTS was a bit of a mixed bag. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, but the service was a bit slower than expected. We ordered quickly, but the food took a bit longer to arrive, even after I ordered takeout. Given the full house, I think it's understandable that the service was a bit slower. Still, I'd give 'em points for trying to keep up with the demand. It's worth a try if you're in the area, but don't go in with super high expectations.

5642 HEIGHTS restaurant is a unique blend of traditional Adyghe and Caucasian cuisine, French flair, American classics, and warm hospitality all in one place.
We stumbled upon 5642 HEIGHTS on the seventh day of our vacation, when a sudden rainstorm forced us to seek shelter and grab lunch. Fortunately, our hotel was nearby, so we ended up at this restaurant. The outdoor patio was packed, but we managed to snag a couple of tables in the main dining area. We were greeted promptly, and the menu arrived quickly.
We ordered quickly, but the food took a bit longer to arrive. Given the full house, I think it's understandable that the service was a bit slower. While we waited, I decided to order takeout, which took even longer to prepare.
The atmosphere in the main dining area was cozy and inviting, with a warm, brown color scheme.
Our server was friendly and attentive, answering our questions about the menu promptly and clearly.
Lobio Megrelskaya was a highlight, served with pickled veggies and crunchy cucumbers that added a nice crunch.
Spinach pkhali, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown, with a loose consistency and large spinach leaves that didn't quite work for us.
Eggplant with meat sauce was a solid choice, but I had ordered the baked eggplant in a light sauce, which was brought to us instead. Our server seemed to have gotten it wrong.
Chicken shashlik was juicy and flavorful, a great option for meat lovers. We also picked up some veggies from the restaurant's market stand, but they were pretty average. You can get way better produce at the local market.
Khinkali with cheese and spinach were still good even when cold, a nice surprise.
Beer was decent, but not cheap, a common complaint at many restaurants.
Overall, 5642 HEIGHTS didn't blow me away, and the menu didn't seem particularly exciting at first. But, as always, life has a way of throwing curveballs, and we ended up here. The food was good, the service was friendly, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back unless I'm stuck in the rain or looking to save time. Worth a visit, but not a top priority.
