Hello there!
I recently visited the amazing city of Kazan, and I have to say, it was a great experience! This was my second trip to the capital of Tatarstan, and I was excited to see it in the fall.
Our hotel in the previous trip was, to put it mildly, not great. I wrote about it here.
This time around, we weren’t tied to a specific location, so we took our time choosing a hotel.
Location and contacts
The hotel is located at 19, Right-Bulachnaya Street, in a small two-story building. It's just a few minutes' walk to the city center and main attractions, and the train station is within walking distance too.
There's a great little restaurant nearby - Priut Holostyaka - I highly recommend checking it out, we really enjoyed it.
Booking and pricing
We booked through Ostrovok. The luxury room we chose cost 9,900 rubles per night.
Service
There's a small storage room near the entrance where you can leave your luggage. To get to the reception, you'll need to go up the stairs. This hotel has three stars, but it looks pretty new and modern. The lobby is small, but clean and bright, with a sofa, a water cooler, and a coffee machine. The reception staff were friendly.
Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan
As we arrived a bit earlier than the standard check-in time, we asked if we could check in early. It turned out it was pretty cheap, around 300 rubles per hour, which was a surprise given the room rate. We were happy to agree, and we also decided to extend our stay as our train was late in the evening. The corridor looks pretty standard, a bit narrow.
Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan The doors in our room opened with magnetic cards. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan As far as I know, the hotel offers breakfast, but we booked a room without it. Room details
We chose a luxury room with a beautiful view from the window. To be honest, we chose this hotel and this room specifically because we didn’t have a bathtub at home. A shower is great and convenient, but sometimes you just want to lounge in a bathtub!
The room on the website looked incredibly attractive! A large bathtub and a glass wall between the bathroom and the main room, a stylish light design. Our expectations were fully met! The room turned out to be exactly the same as we had imagined!
The room had two large windows that closed with thick white curtains.
Plaza Hotel 3* KazanA small table, two armchairs, a medium-sized TV. The floor had a soft, uncreased carpet. Plaza Hotel 3* KazanThere was a closet with hangers near the entrance. Plaza Hotel 3* KazanA conditioner was installed above the door. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan I was really impressed with the spacious bed and crisp white linens. The bed itself was super comfy, and I slept great. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan And let's be real, the real showstopper is the massive window in the bathroom and the bathroom itself. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan The bathroom is divided into three small areas. One has the sink and the shower, which is pretty deep - I was able to stand comfortably with my 5’7” frame.
Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan I was surprised to find bathrobes and disposable toothbrushes - that's not something you usually find in a three-star hotel, let alone a five-star one. There were towels in standard quantity, a foot mat, soap, body wash, a hair dryer, and slippers - all the usual suspects. You can access the shower from the bathroom area.
Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan The bathroom even had a door with a frosted glass window. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan There was also a mini-bar - a small, open cabinet with a mirror, and a mini-fridge at the bottom. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan Snacks and drinks. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan That was all extra. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan There was a kettle, tea, a Nespresso coffee machine, and water - and that was all free. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan The view from the window wasn't exactly breathtaking, but it was pretty nice. Plaza Hotel 3* Kazan The Verdict Honestly, we had an amazing time staying at the Plaza Hotel 3*. We really loved the interior - everything was so clean, stylish, and comfortable. The bed was super soft and cozy, and the bedding was actually really nice, which isn't always the case in hotels. And the bathroom! It’s a total game-changer for people who are used to showers.
From what I’ve seen in the photos, the rooms in other numbers look just as good. Since our room matched the photos perfectly, I think you can trust them.
I highly recommend the Plaza Hotel 3* - it's a hidden gem in Kazan!
