A Clinic Visit That Left a Really Bad Taste

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still fuming about our recent visit to this 24-hour clinic. We were worried sick about our kitten, who was showing some pretty concerning symptoms. But the experience left a bad taste - the wait time was ridiculous, and the doctor's attitude was super dismissive. To top it off, the test results wouldn't be ready for three days, leaving us wondering what to do with our kitten. The only good thing was that the nighttime consultation was free, and the price was reasonable at 450 rubles. But that's about it.

I'm still fuming about my recent visit to this clinic. We'd been worried sick about our kitten, who was only a month old and showing some pretty concerning symptoms - a runny nose, congestion, and loss of coordination. So, we high-tailed it to the nearest 24-hour clinic, which just so happened to be this one. We called ahead to make sure they were open, but when we arrived, we had to wait outside for 10 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Finally, the doc, Serkov, came out and examined our kitten. He told us it was just an infection, but nothing to worry about. He sent us off to get a PCR test to confirm the diagnosis, which could be one of three things: chlamydia, herpes, or mycoplasma. When I asked about our kitten's lethargy and coordination issues, he brushed them off, saying it was normal for a kitten that young. The only good thing was that they didn't charge us extra for the nighttime consultation, and we only paid 450 rubles. But here's the thing - the test results wouldn't be ready for three days, and we were left wondering what to do with our kitten in the meantime. Dr. Serkov didn't offer any advice or treatment, just told us to come back for the results.
We went back the next morning for the test, but our kitten had another episode that night. We called the clinic again, and the administrator told us to bring our kitten in if we were concerned. But when we got there, we found the door locked again, and no one answered the phone. The lights were on in the pharmacy, but no one came to the door. We waited for 20 minutes and then left. I kept calling the clinic, but no one answered for over an hour.
When we finally got the PCR test results, which were completely clean, we knew we had to take our kitten to a different vet. We'd been to this vet before, but he wasn't available at night. We were worried sick about our kitten, who was having a severe episode. We rushed to the vet, who told us that the symptoms could be indicative of either hydrocephalus or a virus. The prognosis was pretty grim - if it was hydrocephalus, our kitten wouldn't make it, and if it was a virus, the chances of survival were slim. I won't sugarcoat it - we were in a state of panic. We decided to take our kitten to the vet and get treatment right away. It's been a few days, and our kitten is showing some signs of improvement, but the thought of what could have happened if we'd stayed at that clinic is still haunting me.
We're never going back to that clinic, even in an emergency. The experience was a total disaster, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
