Editor's Summary
I'm always on the lookout for new shower gels to spice up my daily routine. The LION Shokubutsu Shower Gel caught my attention with its promise of gentle, family-friendly cleaning. After using it for a week, I'm impressed with its build quality and ease of use. However, the packaging could use some improvement. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm loving the fact that it's gentle on my skin and doesn't dry it out. It's also super easy to use, even for my kids. But, the packaging is a bit too big, making it hard to store in the shower. Overall, this shower gel is worth every penny, but it's not without its drawbacks.

A Gentle Shower Gel for the Whole Family - My Honest Review
I'm always on the lookout for new shower gels to spice up my daily routine. With so many options out there, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. That's why I was excited to try out the LION Shokubutsu Shower Gel.
I picked this gel because I wanted something gentle that I could use without having to scrub away with a loofah. Plus, it's perfect for the whole family - although my husband might not appreciate its gentle nature as much as I do!
The Packaging
The bottle is quite large and heavy, with a generous amount of gel inside. It's almost too big, if you ask me!
The packaging is quite impressive, with a plastic cover that wraps around the bottle. It's a great way to protect the product and make it easier to store.
One thing I noticed is that the packaging has minimal information - mostly in foreign languages. There's a small sticker with some Russian text, but I'm not a fan of reading tiny print.
Despite the lack of information, the packaging does list the main details: the product itself, ingredients, and some info about the manufacturer.
The Dispenser
The dispenser is great - easy to use and gives out a gentle, foamy lather. It's not too thick or whipped, like some high-end brands can be. Instead, it's light and airy, making it easy to spread all over my skin.
One pump gives me just the right amount of gel for a refreshing shower. It's easy to apply and becomes creamy and foamy on my skin.
The Scent
The fragrance is incredibly gentle and pleasant, and despite the name mentioning peach, it doesn't smell like traditional peach at all. I'm glad it doesn't, to be honest! The scent is light, soft, and unobtrusive.
The Benefits
For me, this gel is a more comfortable way to wash, always more pleasant, and easy to apply directly to my skin, even without water. I prefer using it over soap for my hands.
The gel is also incredibly gentle and suitable for kids - as long as they're not the tiniest of babies!
The Ingredients
Water Propylene glycol Myristic acid Potassium hydroxide Lauric acid Palmitic acid Cocamidopropyl betaine Stearyl alcohol Fragrance Phenoxyethanol (<1%) Biocide Tetrasodium EDTA Ethylhexylglycerin CI 19140 Butylene glycol CI 42090 Peach kernel extract
The Effect on Skin
According to the description online, the peach kernel extract has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties: it moisturizes, tones, and smoothes the skin. It reduces inflammation and itching, preventing dryness and flakiness. The extract creates a barrier that retains moisture in the skin.
Shelf Life
The expiration date is listed on the packaging - mine's set for November 2023. I bought it in January 2023, so I'm good to go!
Production
It's made in Thailand, although the Lion brand is Japanese. I won't get into the details, but the quality is top-notch.
The Verdict
All in all, this gel is fantastic - just what I need for daily, gentle care. I'd definitely buy another scent if I come across it!
