Fito-Lamp from Fix Price - The 'Golden Standard' for Home Plant Lighting: Amazingly, It Works! My Dracaenas Perked Up and Turned Green!

I recently purchased a fito-lamp, also known as a fito-tape, from Fix Price for 175 rubles. I found it in the department with table lamps, phone holders, and other electronic gadgets.

I've been thinking about buying a fito-lamp for the past couple of months, as my city is perpetually shrouded in darkness. I wasn't even familiar with the concept, as I moved from a southern city where the sun shines both in winter and summer. In my hometown, fito-lamps were a rare sight, even in apartments with dark windows.

However, in Yaroslavl, the closest neighbor to Moscow, the weather is dismal. The gray skies, constant rain, and fog follow us for 8-9 months. Initially, I was surprised to see windows lit up with a warm glow. Over time, I realized that my beloved plants - dracaenas and chlorophytums - were wilting.

The fito-lamp is relatively small, measuring only 1 meter in length, with 60 LED lights. It's not designed for a large number of plants. The manufacturer is a Chinese company.

The tape, attached to a USB connector, was initially wrapped around a plastic base. The packaging notes that the color of the lamp and cord may vary - white or black. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the black version in the store.

When turned on, the fito-lamp emits a beautiful, dark pink glow - a mix of blue and red colors.

After reading the instructions and technical specifications, I discovered that this model meets the 'golden standard': Scientists have proven that the most effective wavelengths for plant growth are 660 nm (visible to humans as red light) and 455 nm (perceived as blue light).

These wavelengths are also indicated on the packaging: 660 red and 450 blue light, which are equally suitable for home plants during growth and flowering periods.

Another advantage is the adhesive side of the tape, which can be attached to any surface. Initially, I stuck it to a plastic window, but the light was too harsh. Since the lamp has a 120-degree viewing angle, I decided to use its side lighting mode.

After removing the tape from its previous location, I attached it to the window sill, which was simply plastered. Everything stuck well and has remained in place so far.

The manufacturer claims that the tape can be reattached multiple times. I'm not sure; I think it's already too dusty to reattach it. You can only reattach it to plastic and glass surfaces.

It's also essential to maintain the correct distance between the lamp and plants: at least 10 cm to avoid burning, but no more than 30 cm, or the light will be ineffective and won't reach the plants.

One of the drawbacks is the extremely short power cord, measuring only 80 cm. If you plan to buy this product, consider purchasing a power extension cord or keeping it near a power outlet.

I had to dig through my storage to find an extra power adapter from my phone charger.

In summary, the fito-lamp is a fun and functional product that beautifully illuminates and even adds a decorative touch to your home decor, especially when paired with a festive string of lights.

After two weeks of using the fito-lamp, my dracaena has noticeably turned green, indicating that the product works effectively, and the LEDs are of high quality.

Since my plant is quite large, measuring 1.2 meters, the fito-lamp can only illuminate one plant at a time. I'd love to purchase another fito-tape and attach it to the opposite side of the window, but the abundance of cables and the need to buy a power extension cord deter me. For now, my plants are waiting in line to 'warm up'.

I'm cautious about leaving the device plugged in when I'm away at work, so I only turn it on when I return home, resulting in approximately 3-4 hours of operation.
