I recently wrote my thoughts on George Orwell's novel '1984'. Many readers who have read the novel have been overwhelmed by the depth of the story and the timeliness of the themes. I understand that many readers have difficulty understanding the novel, but I highly value it and understand it as well.
Today, I would like to share my opinion on another popular work by the author 'The Animals'. They are so different, but both works have one thing in common: the political theme of totalitarianism.

My Impressions and Experiences:When I read 'Scout's Tale', I was surprised that it was banned in the Soviet Union until the 1980s under censorship. I have also heard that it was burned in large quantities in Cuba.
I would now like to share my own impressions. This story has deeply moved me.
Let's get started:
The author transports the reader to an English farm, where animals of all kinds live: pigs, horses, donkeys, sheep.
The animals come to the conclusion that their ruler, due to his laziness and excessive drinking, is no longer able to feed and protect them. Therefore, they decide to start a revolution. In the barn, they write their 7 Commandments.
Scout's Tale. 7 Commandments:
Who walks on two legs is an enemy.
Who walks on four legs or has wings is a friend.
Animals do not wear clothing.
Animals do not sleep in beds (later added: with bedding).
Animals do not drink alcohol (later added: in excess).
Animals do not kill other animals (later added: without reason).
All animals are equal (later added: but some are more equal).
I think many know the proverb from the 7 Commandments, slightly modified:
All are equal, but some are more equal. I didn't know it was from George Orwell until I read 'Scout's Tale'.
I think this story is a profound satire, written with pride by the animals, but they immediately forgot it. They are indeed very stupid. It was decided to keep only Scottishism (it is believed that the author invented the word Scottishism as a mockery of communism).
"Four legs are good, two legs are bad!".
However, a rift occurs. The rooster Napoleon, who initiated this revolution, begins to pursue new ideas. And he doesn't need the consent of his companions. He understands that most of the animals on the farm are very stupid and can be manipulated as he pleases.
What fascinates me about this story? The author has very well and believably described his characters. For example, you can recognize the horse as the working class.
What do you think could be the model for the bad dogs? Of course, they are the NKVD men. How did he manage that?
The sheep are the common people.
The donkey Benjamin is the intelligence that talks a lot but does nothing.
The animals have exhausted themselves with the second mill, and they spoke of plans to install a generator. But of the wonders of the splendor that Snow King put in the animals' heads - of stables with electric lighting and warm and cold water, of a three-day week - there was no longer any mention. Napoleon declared such ideas to be contradictory to the spirit of Scottishism. "The true happiness lies in hard work and simple living," he said.
The book is easy and quick to read, its main advantage lies in the many lively and realistic satires. It is not a philosophical fable with a hint of fantasy, but a fresh breeze. 79 years have passed since its publication, and it becomes more relevant.
"The Skottdorf", as '1984' is also referred to as an allusion to the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union, also has an allusion in 'The Skottdorf'. I think the author focused on the dictatorships and revolutions of both countries.
I come to the conclusion:

+ Relevant and yet 79 years old.
