As the clock ticks closer to New Year's Eve, I'm reminded that it's time for a fresh start, new changes, and new wonders. This year, I've decided to create a new wish list, my third one so far.
I've always been fascinated by the concept of creating a wish list or visualization card, but I've never done it exactly by the book.
I first learned about it from the movie 'The Secret.' That film sparked my desire to create my own wish list, and I got started. After making it, I put it away in a drawer and forgot about it. A few years later, I stumbled upon it and was amazed that about 70% of my wishes had come True.
For example, when I made the list, I wasn't in a relationship, and I was definitely not 25 yet. I didn't just want serious relationships; I wanted a family and kids.
The list had pictures of swans, weddings, rings, and so on, as well as a pregnant belly and kids. And guess what? Shortly after making the list, I met someone, and our relationship started to blossom. A year into the relationship, he proposed, a year and a half later we got married, and a year after that, we had a beautiful baby.
Of course, you might say that's just a coincidence, but I have plenty of examples like that.
I'm not going to dive into the nitty-gritty of creating a wish list in this review, as there's a fantastic and detailed review on this website about how to create one. Instead, I want to share some nuances I've learned from creating my previous two wish lists and what I'll keep in mind when making the next one.
What You Need to Make a Wish List
You can use anything you like and whatever's convenient for you. You can create a digital one and stick it on your computer or phone desktop. You can draw and write on it. You can buy a corkboard and cut out pictures from magazines or print them out. You can even glue them onto a piece of cardboard.
I like to buy A3-sized cardboard to make it big enough to stick things on without being too bulky to store.
You'll need PVA glue, scissors, and pre-printed pictures from the internet, as well as a good mood and unwavering faith in this wish list.
I used to find pictures online, but now I find them so much easier in Pinterest.
I'm against creating a wish list digitally, as I believe that by cutting and gluing the pictures, you're investing your energy. You're choosing where and how to glue the pictures, re-examining them, and visualizing your desires, which strengthens your intention.
The Zones of Composition
I love that the visualization map is divided into 9 zones, just like in feng shui. Each zone corresponds to something specific.
CareerHealthFameFamily and LoveChildren and CreativityWealthTravelKnowledgeAcquisitionsI've seen some variations online, but the differences are minor. I'm not going to debate the 'right' order, as it's not my area of expertise. The essence remains the same.
Some people suggest dividing the zones by color, but I've never done that and don't plan to (maybe that's why not all my wishes come True). You can choose to color-code or not.
When selecting images, be thoughtful and intentional. Try to find ones that closely match your desires.
If you want to go to the beach, choose a specific location like Abkhazia or Crimea, or maybe even Bali. Don't just pick a beach because it's a beach – pick one that resonates with your dream destination. If you want a car, specify the make, model, and color, rather than just 'Lamborghini' when you actually want a BMW X5.
Make sure to engage all zones, and I'm sure you'll find something you desire in each one. Focus on the things you truly crave, though.
Don't clutter your board with things you don't need or want. I once stuck a car on my board, just because. Now I realize I didn't really want it. Don't make that mistake.
Also, pay attention to subtle details like images with money. When you stick a pile of cash or a person holding money, be sure to label it:
1. I'm a magnet for money
2. Money loves me
3. Money comes to me easily, and so on
Keep in mind that this image can represent either money coming to you or leaving you.In the relationships zone, avoid sticking a specific person's image. You can't dictate their feelings or actions. Instead, stick images of people with their backs turned or hands holding each other. You can also describe the image:
1. I'm with my soulmate
2. My partner loves me, and I love him
2. My partner and I are happy
Write all your desires as if they've already happened.
I wrote about my soulmate as if we were already together, and guess what? I ended up with an amazing husband who matches my description.
You can only manifest someone if they're present in your life. Like, a joint photo with your partner – if you're living together, not in the middle of a divorce, and you want to win them back, because this isn't magic. Your photo goes in the center. Choose one that's not just a good shot of you, but also captures you being genuinely happy!
What Happened to Me
1. I wanted a mirrorless camera, but at the time, I couldn't afford it. And then, knowing my passion for photography, a friend gifts me one (it was second-hand, but that didn't matter to me). I couldn't even think about it.
2. On the second board, I mentioned I wanted a 50mm lens. And guess what? Friends gave me that lens on my birthday. (My wish list was never seen by anyone. They just knew I loved taking photos).
3. On the first board, I wrote that I wanted a salary of $20,000. And I was blown away when I saw that my salary at the time was $19,500. BUT The reason you need to be super specific with your wishes is that I listed my salary in Ukrainian hryvnias, but didn't specify the currency. And by the time I looked at the board again, my salary was in Russian rubles – just $500 off the mark.
This was my first manifested wish that left me speechless. So, please specify the currency. It's better to write in dollars. And, of course, use a real figure. If you're making $200-$300 right now, write $1,000-$2,000, because a million dollars is just unrealistic.
4. A loving, caring, and loving husband, and a child. I already mentioned that at the time, I wasn't in a relationship.
Of course, this isn't everything that manifested. I wrote about the most important and biggest things.
So, when creating my new board, I'll be super careful about choosing the images and won't include unnecessary ones, like yachts and stuff. Because, at this stage of my life, I don't need those things – I have other desires.
My desires are my goals! What I want to achieve in life, not just daydream about. Because this isn't my last board.
And, of course, if you want a $5,000 income, but are just lounging on the couch waiting for someone to give it to you every month, and then get disappointed when it doesn't happen, that's just not going to work.
The board isn't a magic wand; it's your assistant in achieving your desires.
And I want to highlight an important thing:
When you're creating your vision board, it's essential to be super clear about what you want in each area of your life and curate images that truly speak to you.Avoid sticking up things you don't actually want just to fill space.Make sure you're creating your board in a positive headspace – think of it as your birthday, New Year's Eve, or a full moon!Don't put people on your board who you're trying to attract against their will.Label your images, especially the ones that are a bit ambiguous, in the present tense, as if they're already a reality. No 'I don't want' or 'I'm not' – that's just negative energy.Your photo in the center should radiate positivity and happiness.Believe in your vision board and the power of your intentions.Don't put something insignificant on your board, like a chocolate bar you can buy tomorrow, just to activate it.Okay, I think I've covered everything I wanted to say, but I might add something later if I remember anything else.
