Hello everyone!
When I first started watching the documentary 'The Secret', I had a strong urge to close the window just so I wouldn't have to listen to all the overly enthusiastic people smiling at me. It's a bit unnerving to see people so openly trying to make everyone happy.
So, I felt like I was being sucked into a cult, like a vacuum cleaner through my tablet screen, or at least, I was watching a presentation from some American network company like 'Amway'.
About the movie 'The Secret':
It was filmed in Australia and released in 2006.
The movie consists of stories from different people, including Ronda Byrne herself, and other invited guests, talking about how they discovered an important secret about the universe and how knowing this secret helped them in their lives.
As a rule, books are usually adapted into movies, but in the case of 'The Secret', it was the other way around - the book came out after the movie, and it was just as successful. By the way, I tried reading the book in the original English 15 years ago, but I guess I overestimated my English skills and only got 5 pages in.
The movie is 1 hour and 40 minutes long, and in that short time, it's capable of turning your mind around!
As you'd expect from a documentary, there's no plot twist. Instead, the authors and experts from various fields, including science and medicine, share their magical transformations after applying 'the secret' and explain the main principles of the universe. Positive thinking is the main idea behind the movie.
PhilosopherPredominantly, an entrepreneur shared how he created a collage of happiness, putting a picture of the house he dreamed of, and eventually bought it a while later.BusinessmanI, on the other hand, made my own personal vision board back in 2013, and I've got something to brag about (except for meeting Enrique Iglesias, of course 😁).
I agreeAccording to the authors, we're surrounded by what we focus on. Did Gina call you?)The universe is capable of fulfilling all of a person's desires, provided they're 100% convinced they deserve it and believe in it with all their heart.
Quotes from successful people are quite motivating.
To achieve what you want, time is needed, but the example below shows what would have happened if your idea had become a reality instantly. It's an exaggeration, of course, but it's clear. 'I want an elephant')
I loved the 'dream ride' test, where a guy showed himself speeding on his dream ride, sitting at home in his usual armchair. The message is clear - literally see how we're reaching for the things we want - driving a car, waving big bills, entering a new beautiful home, and so on. Visualization is key here, and the feelings are crystal clear. Representing your desires in detail And here are the steps:
Steps It's just as important to show gratitude for what you already have today - family, a cat, a job, a tasty breakfast, the ability to see, walk, talk, and other little things (and who doesn't have those?).
Relationships.
A happy person has harmonious relationships with their partner. First, they love and respect themselves, and then others recognize it.
Harmonious relationships I liked the exercise: 'We write down 10/20/50 qualities of our loved one.' Fewer complaints - more gratitude, and your husband will go to great lengths to hear how awesome he is again As a woman in a 13-year marriage, I agree.
Grateful every day for the world and the people around us And here's a story about an artist who drew himself with his dream girl, and soon met her in real life!
Drawing your love Health.
The guy barely survived after the plane crash A man survived a plane crash, but was severely injured and doctors said he'd never be able to breathe on his own again. However, less than a year later, he walked out of the hospital on his own and breathed without an oxygen tank. That's amazing! It immediately reminded me of the movie '127 Hours', where a woman survived a plane crash and trekked through the wilderness in the freezing cold - it gives me chills! And then there's the story of Katie, who recovered from breast cancer in just three months, without undergoing chemotherapy. According to the girl, she visualized herself as healthy and created an atmosphere of joy and happiness around her - with her husband, they laughed at old comedies.
A woman who recovered from breast cancerI've got to admit, this case raised some questions for me. I mean, cancer is a serious disease, and I've got friends who've gone down the homeopathy route, dismissing conventional medicine. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, and they didn't live long enough. My father-in-law, on the other hand, somehow managed to beat thyroid cancer without chemo, relying on the plant Aconitum. That was 30 years ago, and he's now in his 80s with no signs of recurrence. I'm dead against self-medication and homeopathy. One thing's for sure, drinking chamomile tea before bed is a whole different story from risking your life.
I've got to give credit where credit's due – the filmmakers did a great job explaining that rejecting established medical methods is just plain foolish. As the saying goes, 'Hope for the best, but don't put all your eggs in one basket.'
The dangers of resistance and criticism. What you put out there is what you get back. First of all, like attracts like, even at the thought level. If you're constantly dwelling on the negative and being dissatisfied with yourself and life, the chances of finding happiness are zero.
Secondly, visualization of failure just makes it worse. 'The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer' – that's a phrase that's not without basis.
What really caught my attention is that even quantum physicists acknowledge the impact of our beliefs on events. A quantum physicist in the houseAccording to the speakers, it's more effective to focus on creating rather than fighting. Don't battle with excess weight; aim for a healthy lifestyle. Don't fight with waste management companies; build an eco-friendly recycling plant instead. In short, don't resist – create!
"Resistance breeds repetition" – that's a phrase I remember from a book by the wise Marie Forleo, and I'm completely on board with it.The movie 'The Secret' ended on a high note, with uplifting scenes of nature.
The beauty of nature, happy facesHappy peoplewho've achieved their goalsThe joy of self-expressionthanks to the right mindset, kindness. My impressions.
I have to say, the movie was a pleasure to watch, aside from the first few minutes.
The film's message is simple yet profound: stay calm in any situation, love life even when things don't go as planned, learn to see and feel your dreams in the smallest details, and be grateful for everything and everyone! That's the secret the upbeat authors revealed to us, and I'll never forget the smile of that woman.
The joyful ladyExperts from various fields were involved in the project.
Another physicistAmericans and Australians get a thumbs up! Our compatriot Vadim Zeland, however, wrote a book called "Transurfing Reality" years ago, which shares similar postulates with "The Secret". Of course, the overseas marketing geniuses got more attention, while Zeland is more popular among the Russian-speaking audience.
The "new age" movement also resonates with the conversations recorded with Indian sage Osho.
What I've gained from positive thinking.
I analyzed this recently, after watching the film.
Let's start with the fact that I've had a vivid imagination since childhood, and creativity and reading literary fiction have only enhanced it.
When I was around 6-7 years old, I used to imagine myself as a grown-up – tall, slender, stylish, and always wearing high heels. I'd picture myself with a big bust in a low-cut dress, with a figure like a clock. And, honestly, this fantasy has been with me since I was 15, without any sacrifices on my part.
From 17 onwards, I started dreaming of traveling (no geologist or military parents to thank for that). By now, I've visited almost two dozen countries, and this is just the beginning – I continue to visualize unexplored territories.
I've got a map of the world hanging on my bedroom wall, and every morning I wake up and see a new country calling my name. I actually visited that country the same year.
I was amazed to discover how far I still have to go in terms of financial stability. I mean, I've got enough to get by, but that's about it. I'm still working on achieving my goals.
That's the way it isI've also set a goal to become fluent in a new language, and I've been using a tool to help me visualize my progress. I can now have conversations with native speakers without any issues.
The bottom line!
Chasing dreams is one thing, but taking action is what really matters.
Consistency is key. I visualize my goals every day, and I'm grateful for that. Regular exercise is also essential to stay healthy and focused. I aim to spend at least an hour a day learning the language, and 5-6 days a week, I dedicate 45 minutes to studying and reviewing my progress.
A one-time effort won't get you anywhere.
To achieve your goals faster, it's also a good idea to practice Neurography
