Specifications
Hello there!
I stumbled upon the 5-letter word game from T-bank while mindlessly scrolling through their app. I started playing and got hooked, only to discover that you can win some awesome prizes! So, what prizes did I manage to win? Keep reading to find out
Where to find the game?
The game is right inside the T-bank app, no need to download anything extra or take up space on your phone. Simply open the app, type in the name in the search bar at the top, and select the game from the dropdown menu. And that's it, you're straight into the game!
How to play and what's the point?
It's super simple: you have 6 attempts to guess a 5-letter word. No tasks, no hints, nothing like that. The only rule is that the word has to be a noun in the singular form.
If a letter is gray, it's not in the word. If it's white, it's in the word, but not in the right position. And if it's yellow, you've got it spot on! When you guess the word, the whole thing lights up yellow. New words are added every day, so it's not a huge time commitment, but it's still a great way to keep your brain sharp.
Some people use online tools or join groups to help them out, but I'm more interested in the actual process of guessing the word.
At first, it was tough, but now I'm pretty much a pro at guessing the words. I don't use any tricks or algorithms, I just think and guess.
Prizes
Aside from the mental recharge, you get a prize for every five words you guess correctly. But honestly, the prizes are pretty underwhelming. Mostly, it's coupons or promo codes that give you a discount on popular services. I mean, you can probably find those discounts without playing the game if you look hard enough. Occasionally, you'll get some actual deals as prizes. To be honest, I've never actually used any of the prizes I've gotten, I'm just playing for the fun of it.
Prize Draw
I started playing actively around the time of the first prize draw, which was Halloween-themed. I managed to guess the five-letter word just a couple of days before the draw on November 2nd, so I got the maximum number of tickets for the entire period.
My chances of winning were consistently higher than 98-99% of the other players for the entire duration of the game. There were a couple of times when my chances even reached 100%! Not bad, right? And the prizes are actually pretty decent, too - you can win up to a million rubles. But what's really interesting is that when the prize draw finally came around, my chances suddenly dropped to 95%. I get it, you can still win with a 2% chance, it's all about luck and timing... but the situation itself was just ridiculous 😀
It's the same with the number of players who share the 10 million ruble prize fund. To qualify, you only need to collect 25 tickets throughout the game. On the first day, when the ticket collection period ended, there were around 480,000 players who had met the main condition. By the way, if we do some quick math, we can estimate that each player's share is around 20 rubles.
But then, on the next day and the day after that, some more players just magically appeared. First, it was 525,000, and then it ended up being over 600,000. I mean, where did all these extra players come from if the ticket collection period was already over? More magic, I guess 🤔
I was really looking forward to getting my prize money sent to my T-bank card by December 19th, but it ended up showing up on December 17th - and it was a whopping 17 rubles! I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it, to be honest, it's just such a tiny amount 😆
I ended up buying a total of 32 tickets, and, to be honest, I didn't expect to win anything. But if I had managed to collect the maximum number of tickets and outdid 95% of the participants, I can only imagine how many people are actually playing.
The next draw was a New Year's-themed one, and they announced it right after the Halloween tournament. But this time, the rules were a bit tougher, and the game itself was a lot longer. I needed to collect 40 tickets to split a 10-million-ruble prize pool. The total prize fund was 20 million.
And, once again, everything went pretty much as it did last time. Throughout the game, my chances were stuck at 95-97%, and by the time the draw came around, they had dropped to 91%.
Out of the 43 tickets I collected, none of them were winners, which was pretty much what I expected. But since I collected more than 40 tickets, I'm eligible for a share of the 10-million-ruble prize.
This time, each participant's share was a whopping 19 rubles. I'm not sure what I'd do with those... Ha! Just kidding, sort of.
New Year's Draw ResultsNow they're announcing the spring draw, maybe someone will want to give it a shot. All in all, it's a pretty cool game, especially if you don't think of it as a way to win a big prize, but rather as a fun little brain teaser.
Pros of the "5 Letters" game from T-Bank:
✔️ It's an absolute blast to play - I'm hooked!
✔️ It's seriously great for exercising your brain and keeping those thinking skills sharp
✔️ The best part? You don't need to download a single thing extra
✔️ And, if you guess a word correctly, you get some kind of bonus - it's a nice little motivator
Now, about the downsides:
✖️ The biggest bummer is that you can only guess one word per day - it's a bit frustrating, to be honest
✖️ There are some weird issues with the prize fund draw, which can be a bit of a letdown
I've gotta say, the "5 Letters" game from T-Bank is a solid idea. It's super simple, but it really gets your brain working. I mean, the challenges are actually pretty thought-provoking. If you're a fan of puzzles, you should totally give it a shot!
