I'm all about keeping my skin clean, and for me, that starts with a good face wash. I've got a few go-to products that I swear by: a hydrating oil, a cleanser, and a toner or astringent. When it comes to hydrating oils, I'm a straightforward girl - it's gotta emulsify well, clean my skin, and that's it, I'm happy.
But this SelfieLab Hydrating Gel-Oil For Gen Z and Alpha is a bit of an interesting case. It's not just a hydrating oil, it's a hydrating gel-oil that I was curious to try out.
The beauty talisman. A foolproof way to leave no room for makeup and impurities on your face and around your eyes - remove makeup and clean your skin with a hydrating gel-oil. They've 'amped up' the beloved Japanese ritual and created a texture based on valuable oils and plant extracts, so you can enjoy clean and fresh skin for as long as possible. And yes, it works great with SanSkrin too.
So, I'll get into the details about this product later.
SelfieLab Hydrating Gel-Oil For Gen Z and Alpha
♥ Where to buy.
I picked it up at ZYA.
♥ Price.
It's around 590 rubles for 200 ml.
♥ Appearance.
The gel-oil's packaging is pretty interesting. No wonder it's part of the young folks' line - I'm not exactly young, but why not give it a shot?
There's a lot of info on the back of the bottle.
The bottle's semi-transparent, so you can always see how much product is left.
I'm not a fan of the pump, though, and it's bringing down my rating.
It takes me 5 presses to get a tiny bit of product out, and I need 10 presses for a normal face wash.
♥ From the manufacturer.
A gentle exfoliation with alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), and polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) helps to remove dead skin cells. It's like a little wake-up call for my skin, you know?
Honey extract and grape seed oil are like the ultimate soothing duo - they calm my skin down and make me feel all relaxed.
Green coffee extract is like the bodyguard of my skin, protecting it from all the free radicals out there.
Almond oil is like the nourishing mom of my skin, making sure I'm always hydrated and happy.
♥ Ingredients.
Aqua, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Poloxamer 184, Sodium Chloride, Gluconolactone, Sodium Hydroxide, Malic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum.
♥ Scent.
It's pretty straightforward - it smells like soap.
♥ Texture.
I have to say, it's a bit weird. It's like a gel, but not really. I checked the ingredients, and there's grape seed oil at the end, but it feels like there's barely any of it.
I mean, emulsifying? Forget about it. This isn't some kind of oil that would work like that. But the rinsing is just like a regular gel cleanser.
It comes off clean without any residue.
♥ Usage.
I use a micellar water always in the same order:
Micellar water,Face wash,Toner.Serum,Moisturizer or night mask.
I wash my face morning and night, and in the morning I usually do a gentle massage with a gua sha tool, but this gel just gets all stuck up because of its texture.
Usage is pretty straightforward:
Apply a small amount of gel to dry skin, including the eye area, massage for 1-2 minutes, rinse with warm water. Precautions: if the gel gets in your eyes, rinse them with water. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures.
♥ Effect.
I've tried out all sorts of products:
Highlighter,Mascara,Eyeshadow,Bronzer,Mascara.
Here I apply the product to my skin.
Removing the pencil took me all of 5 seconds.
The result is pretty cool, but it's clear the pencil is still there.
I've gotta say, the pencil was a tough nut to crack, and this gel remover just didn't quite cut it.
I used this gel as a makeup remover, applying it on top of my makeup, followed by a foaming cleanser, toner, and serum. It left no residue behind and was easy to rinse off.
Before I washed my face:
And after:
I didn't feel super clean, but my skin didn't break out or get inflamed, so that's a plus.
This product gets along with my other skincare products just fine.
♥ Rating.
I'm not gonna lie, this isn't a makeup remover, it's a cleanser. I'd give it 4 stars, but the packaging is a major letdown!
