I've gotta share my experience with feeding my baby NAN Optipro 4 formula - it's been a wild ride!

A little backstory: my kid isn't super picky and basically eats any formula just fine. From birth to 6 months, aside from breastfeeding, my kid was on Nutrilak 1. Then I started giving NAN 2, but later switched to Nestogen 2-3 because it's cheaper. I'd buy NAN on sale and Nestogen otherwise. So, NAN isn't our go-to formula.

I buy the 1050g carton packs. That size costs around 1200 rubles at Lenta or on marketplaces like Wildberries or Ozon. Yeah, I often order formula online - initially, I was hesitant, but the product always arrives original and in great condition. The packaging:

The package comes with a convenient measuring spoon made of good-quality plastic.

The formula is a milky color and very powdery. But sometimes, if the formula's been sitting out for a while (like when parents have an open packet), it can get lumpy. But that's not a big deal - it's easy to break it up again.

I won't go into the details of how to prepare the formula - it's number 4, after all, and I'm sure everyone already knows that. What I will say is what I like about this formula:

Firstly, the formula has a sweet, honey-like taste, both in dry form and when mixed with water. This is my 'favorite' formula in terms of taste.

Secondly, I like that the formula dissolves easily and I don't have to shake the bottle for ages like a shaker. Of course, when I first mix it, there are some lumps at the bottom, but they're easy to mix in. Nestogen dissolves a bit worse, if I'm being honest.

Thirdly, my kid didn't experience any side effects from Nan formula. Whether it was after the second or fourth feeding, my kid's stool didn't get worse and no rashes appeared. I also want to mention that my little one enjoys eating the formula (although, as I mentioned earlier, my kid is pretty easy-going).

To be honest, I wanted to compare Nan 4 with Nestogen 4 a bit. Here's a breakdown of the elements in 100ml of ready-to-drink formula (according to the packaging table) in Nan 4 versus Nestogen 4:

I took a closer look at the mineral content in both formulas and I can say that there's hardly any difference - both Nan and Nestogen are great in their own ways.

However, for me, price is a factor, especially since the formula gets used up quickly (my kid drinks 180-240ml per feeding), so I'll continue buying Nan only when it's on sale.
