Editor's Summary

I've spent years diving into the world of self-improvement, so it takes a lot to surprise me. But this book on quantum physics and the subconscious did just that. The author's promise of a new version of myself in just 4 weeks was intriguing, but I was skeptical. After all, I've already explored this topic in depth. Still, I was curious to see what this book had to offer. The author takes two chapters to explain the brain and subconscious, followed by a detailed explanation of how meditation affects us. It's only then that we get to the good stuff – the practices themselves. I'll be honest, 4 weeks is a pretty short timeframe to tackle a specific problem, and I was wondering if it was realistic. But I'm a huge fan of meditation, so I was excited to dive in and see what this book had to offer. Here's my honest take on the book, including the good, the bad, and everything in between. I found the author's approach to be refreshingly straightforward, and I appreciated the emphasis on practicality. The book is well-organized, making it easy to navigate and find the information you need. One thing that really stood out to me was the author's use of real-life examples and anecdotes to illustrate the concepts and practices. It made the material feel more relatable and accessible. Of course, no book is perfect, and there were a few areas where I felt the author could improve. At times, the writing style felt a bit dry and dense, which made it hard to get through some of the chapters. I also wished for more concrete examples and case studies to illustrate the concepts and practices. Additionally, I felt that the author could have provided more guidance on how to overcome common obstacles and setbacks. Lastly, some of the language and terminology used in the book may be unfamiliar to readers who are new to the topic. Overall, I'd say that this book is a great resource for anyone looking to improve their mental well-being and self-awareness. It's a comprehensive guide that covers the basics of quantum physics and the subconscious, as well as practical meditation techniques. If you're new to the topic, you'll find the author's explanations clear and concise. And if you're a seasoned pro, you'll appreciate the depth and nuance of the material. So, is this book worth your time? Absolutely. It's a game-changer for anyone looking to take their self-improvement journey to the next level.

I've devoured my fair share of non-fiction books, so it takes a lot to surprise me. This one, however, caught my attention thanks to the library. I wasn't expecting to read it, but the topic of the subconscious is one I've already explored in depth, so I was curious to see what this book had to offer. The promise of a new version of myself in just 4 weeks was intriguing, to say the least.

The author claims that with just 4 weeks of meditation, you can create a new version of yourself. I'm a skeptic when it comes to the idea of fundamentally changing someone, but I'm a huge fan of meditation and make it a daily habit. Before diving into the practices themselves, the author takes two chapters to explain how the brain and subconscious work, followed by a detailed explanation of how meditation affects us. It's only then that we get to the good stuff – the practices themselves. I'll be honest, 4 weeks is a pretty short timeframe to tackle a specific problem, and I was a bit skeptical about the author's approach. On one hand, I appreciated the idea of handing over my problems to a higher power (though it took me a lot longer to get there), but on the other hand, an hour-long daily meditation is no easy feat. If you're not a fan of meditation, you might want to give this one a pass. I almost closed the book myself, not because I don't believe in the power of meditation, but because the writing is dense and the scientific explanations left me scratching my head. If you're interested in giving it a try, there are audio versions available on YouTube in Russian, so you can give it a listen after finishing the book. The text is detailed, but it's worth it if you're willing to put in the effort.

I'm not going to lie, I was a bit intimidated by the scientific explanations in this book. The author draws heavily from quantum physics, which I have to admit, left me a bit confused. I even asked my husband if it's a widely accepted theory, and it turns out it's not. But that's not the point. The problem lies in trying to wrap my head around the complex explanations. The author uses scientific evidence to prove that our reality is not just a physical phenomenon, but something that can be changed through our thoughts. As someone who's already walked this path and changed their reality through the power of thought, I have to agree with the author – it's a powerful concept. However, the scientific explanations are a bit too much for me, and I found myself getting lost in the details.

I'll be honest, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of my 11th iPhone 'transforming' just by holding it and thinking about the next one that's not even out yet. I mean, I've seen some wild stuff in my time, but this is on a whole different level. And I know from experience how powerful the human mind can be - I've been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. But this? It's just not something I can get on board with, no matter how hard I try.

Let's break this down in plain English: we all have the same thoughts on a daily basis that lead to the same actions and results. If you want to change your life, you need to do things differently. The problem is, our thoughts come from our subconscious, which we can't control during the day. The programs we've recorded in there have been there for years, and they're passed down from our parents. For example, one woman was constantly telling her daughter that men can't be trusted. Guess what? The daughter grows up with that fear, and it's hard to shake off. So, if she wants to change her love life, she needs to find and change that belief. And yeah, it's not just about thinking differently - you need to take action too. At least, stop checking and looking 'suspiciously' all the time. I'm not saying this is about creating a 'new person', though. The person doesn't change, but their attitude towards themselves and life does.

Take a closer look at that quote. The author is saying that just thinking about something is enough... No, I don't get it. Let's put this idea to the test with women after giving birth - have them do some press-ups... or dieters. Just get moving, quickly. Of course, visualization helps, it's inspiring, and it gives you a ton of positive emotions. But how do you skip the action part in this chain of events?"

I have to admit, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people separate their spiritual life from their material one. "Detach from the body, time, and all material things." But, let's be real, I'm human. I have a body that helps me do all the spiritual stuff. While I'm typing this, my body is breathing, typing, and fidgeting to help me focus. My physical brain is processing all this, and I'm grateful for it, so I'm not about to detach from it. It needs food, care, and comfort, and, surprise, surprise, that costs real money. The person who created this chair, computer, and cup of coffee for me didn't do it out of the goodness of their heart, and I'm not about to stop thinking about all the material things I want.

The next chapter explains how our brains work. It's a chain reaction where new information appears, we learn it, act on it, and then enjoy the changes. It's pretty much the same concept as any self-help book. Dr. Joe Dispenza thinks we can skip the action part with meditation. I have to say, he's contradicting himself. First, daily meditation is an action, and it's not easy. Second, the author doesn't deny that we'll need to catch and replace our old habits and thoughts with new ones in real life, and that's work too.

Before we dive into the practice, the author explains the weekly steps. There are also written assignments. And, as usual, my inner skeptic kicks in. I'm used to working on myself with more tangible methods, even though I'm familiar with meditation. But here's the thing: if you don't have genuine faith in the practice, it won't work. And having faith is hard. I don't think it's possible to just give up my anger to the universe and expect it to magically fix things. Instead, I can use cognitive-behavioral therapy to understand why I'm angry, what benefits I get from it, and how I'm using it to hurt others. That way, I can get rid of the emotion and its consequences without needing any higher powers.

And, finally, the actual meditation text.

I'll leave the conclusions to you. Any method that works within reason is good enough. That's why there are so many self-help books out there – people are different, and they need different approaches. But, unfortunately, I won't be recommending this book.

A psychological thriller that'll keep you guessing, but not in a good way. Unpredictable plot, complex characters, and themes that'll make you question reality.
