Hello everyone!
New Year's is just around the corner, and with all the corporate parties and get-togethers, I wanted to try something new to spice up my look without breaking the bank. I've been eyeing magnetic lashes for a while now, weighing the pros and cons, and finally decided to give it a shot with this brand. The price is 350 rubles, and it comes in a compact, sturdy box with all the necessary info on how to use it.
Magnetic Lashes with LinerInfoMagnetic lashes are reusable, and they come with a magnetic liner, three pairs of different lengths and shapes. There's also a plastic base with metal tweezers or pincers to make it easier to work with the lashes.
KitTweezersThe concept is pretty straightforward: you draw a line or a stroke with the liner, let it dry, and then apply the lashes. You can pre-color your own lashes with mascara, but I didn't do that. The liner has tiny magnetic squares that stick to the magnetic base, which has metal parts too. I couldn't get a smooth line with this brush, it's thick, lumpy, and the consistency is uneven with lots of tiny lumps.
Liner BrushSo, it makes sense to draw a normal line with your favorite eyeliner after applying the lashes. I also struggled with the tweezers, although they're convenient, the lashes stick to the metal, maybe I just need to get used to it. A plastic pincer would be better... The liner dries in about 5 minutes, and applying the lashes is pretty easy. I did it quickly, just for a test run, without any eye makeup.
LashesThey look super long and luscious, but I'm not gonna pretend they're real. They look nice and neat, though – it takes some getting used to, but you can definitely feel them on your lashes. They hold up really well, water doesn't faze them, and when you're done, you just 'open' them up, and they come off without any issues, and you can stick them back on the adhesive strip, which has special magnetic strips to keep them in place.
Eyelash lookAfter removalMagnetic stripsI struggled to remove the liner, to be honest – I don't have any special makeup remover, and I mostly just use a gentle cleanser to wash my face. But this liner is definitely water-resistant. I tried to wipe it off with a damp cotton pad, but it didn't budge. It's like it's glued on there.
All good :)I managed to scrape it off with some olive oil, but it came off in clumps. It doesn't smudge or run, which is a plus, but it's definitely not easy to remove. The good news is that it didn't irritate my eyes, and it looks pretty good on – not too dramatic, but nice and neat. Just be sure to use a hydrophilic oil to remove it, and don't stick them on a wet liner, or the magnetic strips will get all clogged up.
