Editor's Summary
I gotta say, this game has some major flaws. The graphics are stunning, but the game's monetization model is all about nickel-and-diming you. The guild system is a great way to team up with friends, but it's not worth the hassle if you're not willing to shell out some cash. Overall, it's a total mixed bag.
Specifications
Hello everyone!
I'll start by telling you how I got hooked on this game. My husband was playing it, and sometimes he'd ask me to do stuff for him. I started to get a feel for the game, and eventually thought, 'Hey, I can make my own account and play on my own too!' So, I basically supported my husband, and he even played for me sometimes. It's all good, we're a team.
Registration
Signing up is super easy - just enter your email address and password. Don't forget either, or you'll be stuck trying to get back into your account.
Guild
The game mode is basically a team mode. You can create your own guild and play solo, but you'll miss out on a ton of perks. So, you'll need to find a guild to join. There are four leagues: recruitment, bronze, silver, and gold. Yeah, you won't get into gold right away, but as you level up, your chances increase. I went through all four leagues and ended up in gold after a couple of months. I just sent a message to the guild master, and he took me in.
Gold guild is the most prestigious, and it's where the top players are.
Game Modes
Oh boy, this is a whole other story. When I first started, there were only a few game modes: Guild Wars, Arena, Grand Arena, and Dungeons. But now, the developers keep adding more and more modes. It's getting ridiculous. What used to take me 30 minutes to an hour to complete now takes an hour, and I'm just a regular guild member.
Events
And then there are the events. Used to be they'd happen on weekends, and you could get some decent rewards. Now, it's like they're non-stop. I'm so over it.
Tickets
I used to get tickets on a quarterly basis, and that was fine. A lot of players donated and bought them, and I was one of them. But now they're released non-stop. One ends, and another one starts right away. And they're way more expensive than they used to be. I don't know who still buys them, but personally, I've lost interest a long time ago. Although, I guess there are still people who want them, since they keep releasing them.
Arena, Grand Arena, and the Not-So-Nice Players
Arena is this mode where you can compete for first place once a day. Not free, of course. You get a ton of emeralds for winning first place, and those are the most valuable currency in the game. Each player has their own time to win, but let's be real, there are a lot of players, and only 24 time slots. So, you're bound to have some competition. And, you know, it's nice if you can work something out with them. But then there are those players who just try to sabotage you during the competition. And, of course, there are those who will send you nasty messages afterwards. To be honest, there are a lot of not-so-nice players in the game. I'd recommend blocking them right away.
Visuals and Graphics
The game looks great, the characters are well-drawn, and the lines are clean. No blur whatsoever.
Sound and Music
Honestly, I turned them off right away. They were just too annoying.
Guildmates
Our guild can have up to 30 members, and we have our own chat on VK. Let me tell you, people can be really different. Sometimes they're just annoying, and sometimes they're actually nice. I've changed guilds a few times, at least five or six. But for the past three years, I've been playing with the same guild, and I have to say, the people here are really great. We've gotten to know each other, and we even talk about stuff outside of the game.
We've got a community going on here that's way more than just a game. We talk about our personal lives, and it's become like a little family. Our guild master is actually really cool, too - they'll even play for you or cover for you if you need help. I've met some amazing people here, and it's hard to leave the game because of that.
Елочка
I've got to say, the game really does feel like life. There's an actual Christmas tree in there, and a letter from Grandpa Winter. It's not Santa Claus, it's Grandpa Winter - and yeah, it's a bit weird. But the guildies decorate the tree and send gifts, and it's got a pretty festive atmosphere.
By the way, Grandpa Winter's gift shows up right on New Year's Eve. I've been waiting for years for him to get it together and give me something decent, but so far, it's all been a bunch of junk. Fingers crossed he'll finally come through this year.
Quests
I've got a ton of quests to complete every day, and then there are the weekly quests, Asgard, and a whole bunch of other stuff. If you miss one, you'll lose out on in-game resources - and if you don't want to fall behind in leveling up, you need to log in every day and do something.
Heroes and Titans
These are the characters you play as, and let me tell you, there are a ton of them. Each hero has their own role - archer, support, tank, healer, fighter, and so on. The titans are a bit easier to understand, there are only five elements. But to really get the hang of the game, you need some time.
Totems
If you don't have a top-tier totem, you're basically a mid-tier player who's unlikely to get picked for the gold league. Totems are everything in this game - they're super rare, and the free ones from the spheres are almost laughable. I've lost count of how I even got mine.
Bugs
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how bad the bugs are in this game. Every time they push out an update, it's like a crapshoot - will it freeze and crash, or will it somehow magically work? And don't even get me started on the difference between playing on my computer versus my phone. It's like night and day. The devs seem to be more concerned with churning out updates and raking in the cash than actually fixing the issues that are driving players crazy.
I've seen so many people get fed up with these bugs and just bail on the game. I mean, who wants to be in the middle of a session, enjoying themselves, only to get kicked out for no reason? It's frustrating, to say the least.
Donations and greed
The devs have been pushing their luck with these constant donations and discounts. It's like they're just trying to milk us for every penny. And don't even get me started on how they 'fix' things - it's like they're too lazy or too busy to actually care. But as soon as they see a chance to make a profit, they're all over it.
Sometimes their greed knows no bounds. The prices are outrageous. I've stopped donating and I don't plan on starting again. There's no way I'm going to line their pockets with my hard-earned cash.
Abandoned accounts
It's like a graveyard out there - so many people have given up and abandoned their accounts. Even those who have made donations. I've done it myself, more than once. Especially during the summer months. My guildmates would play for me, but eventually I'd come back. Now I'm just playing out of habit.
My verdict
I've gotta be honest, I'm just not as into this game as I used to be. It's not a shock, really - everything starts to feel stale after a while. I'm not trying to be harsh, but I don't want to waste my time on it anymore. It's like trying to carry a suitcase without a handle - it's a pain to get rid of, but it's even harder to keep lugging around. So, I wouldn't recommend it at all.
