Abu Dhabi Tour Disaster
We visited Abu Dhabi from August 1st to 12th, 2024.
Day 1-10: Unorganized and Unhelpful Hotel Representative
We arrived at the hotel and were not contacted by the tour representative. We had to reach out to them ourselves to arrange a meeting.
Day 11: Misleading Information and Overpriced Excursions
We were given information about two excursions: one to Abu Dhabi and one to Dubai. We paid $350 for the two of us and were told to wait for 6th and 9th August to go on the excursions. However, on August 5th at 9 PM, we were informed that the excursion to Abu Dhabi was postponed to August 11th due to technical reasons.
Day 11: Disappointing Dubai Excursion
The excursion to Dubai was a 1.5-hour drive without a guide. We were given a list of activities to do, but the guide provided very little information during the trip.
Day 11: Overpriced and Underwhelming Activities
The activities included:
Visiting a museum (not included in the excursion)Going to a 52-story high viewpoint (175 dirhams per person)Visiting a local market (free entry)Taking a 30-minute boat ride and having lunchVisiting the Dubai Mall and watching the fountain show (free entry)Shopping for 3 hours (not included in the excursion)We ended up spending $90 per person on shopping.
Day 12: Disappointing Abu Dhabi Excursion
We were picked up from the hotel at 9:30 AM and visited the Louvre Abu Dhabi at 11:30 AM. However, there was no guided tour of the museum. We were given 1 hour to explore the museum and then taken to the market of dates, where we had 15 minutes to shop. We then had lunch and visited the presidential palace, where we were given 1 hour to explore. We also visited the mosque, where we were given 1 hour to explore. The total cost of the excursion was $85 per person.
Expert Opinion
We strongly advise against booking any excursions with this tour company. The hotel representative was unorganized and unhelpful, and the guides provided very little information during the excursions. The activities were overpriced and underwhelming. We would recommend exploring Abu Dhabi and Dubai on your own, using taxis or ride-hailing services, and purchasing tickets to attractions separately.
